Question about GW Nightfall - Guild Wars Forums

Why is it the graphics requirements of Nightfall are 64 MB of VRAM while the graphics of Factions and Prophecies are only 32 MB?

The engine was updated. But if you can play Factions/Prophecies, the game will work since its the same client.

When you say that the engine was updated you mean that the graphics for ALL the games was update? Sorry for asking as I'm sort of a computer noob.

yes i am pretty sure they were updated for all areas...although in NF you see more shaders and such working.....

Prophecies has less shaders/filters/props/scenery, so it would require lower requirements.

Indeed, but gaile has stated that they are slowly updating things, such as the higher resolution on the charr that happened in a recent update

Remember one thing, whatever chapter you have, you have the same game as everyone else, its all one game and take the latest requirements (Nightfall) as the requirements for all chapters

Thanks guys, I was originally asking the question because I was trying to decide between Factions and Nightfall. My computer isn't too good and I was leaning towards Factions because of the lower requirements and the Assassin. Since it's the same for all games then I'll just get both on Thursday.

i would definetly suggest starting out in Nightfall....you get heros....and has a bit better learning curve than factions.....but you might as well pick up prophecies as well because that is where it all started.....just my opinion...good luck
