Argh...
I've tried the ones I like... Didn't work
i've tried Necro/M, and Elementarist/M Those are the ones I wanted, but those jobs are so BORING. So I have options: 1)You guys can give me a fun profession that i would probably like (Also good) 2)I should stick with the one i have 3)Buy GW Factions and go with assassin/____ 4)Other What should I do? Necro: Annoying Elementrist: To hard and stupid Warrior:Close Range, but I could still try it... Ranger:I don't like rangers.... Mesmer:Nah... Monk:Maybe as a second profession... Asssassin: Perfect, cool, close range, but good damage and can teleport Dervish: People say tey arae invincible, but not my type... Paragon: Weird... (THESE ARE MY OPINIONS) I don't know the true answers for these jobs, so I need your opinions and your sayings on what I should do, THANKS |

it really boils down to how you prefer to play. If you haven't taken any of the characters to the later stages of the game imo its too early to post as boring/too hard/not fun... but without know what you are expecting i am hesitant to suggest a profession for you.
If you are looking for hard to play go with Mesmer...as they are hard to play properly. IF you want straightfoward go to the action go with warrior....if you want to support your front line go with necro elemental or ranger.... I strongly suggest going to www.guildwiki.org and reading up on the different professions....and create as many as you want and see what you like....just remember the secondary you pick isn't what you have to keep forever...later in the game you can switch secondaries....also you can run each type of player in different "modes" Necro as a Minion Master or Curses or Blood necro Elemental as Damage (fire) Support (Earth) etc Mesmer as a mele stopper or caster stopper All class are as hard as you make them...you can go with preset playing style or go with what you think works best. one thing on assassins....they are hard to play successfully ...they do huge damage...but are very vulnerable due to low armor. |

So Assassins have low armor eh... Is there a way to make it as HIGH as possible?

Make a Ritualist, since you havent even considered that. Tons of options there....spam offense or defense spirits, buff your party with weapon spells, help heal your party or go full offense with damage spells.

Assassins are like ninjas - low armor that doesn't protect you enough to be able to run into a group of enemies and hack them single handedly, but if you know what you're doing, their teleport and speed skills will keep you alive. Remember, good ninjas always move in groups and rely more on stealth than strength. What didn't you like about necros? And elementalists aren't hard to play at all, they're actually really easy to play with pretty much any build until you reach later areas in the game. If you want a really high-armor hack n' slasher, I suggest making a warrior. They may not look as cool as assassins, but they are easier to play and have the highest basic armor in the game. You can get far in the game just by button smashing with a warrior, whereas an assassin would die a frustrating amount of times before you learn to control it. Just don't be surprised if people don't want to team up with you for missions if you pick a warrior and then just button smash your way through the game. Guild Wars isn't a game where you can just mindlessly hack through everything. Last edited by Perynne; Jun 17, 2007 at 06:28 AM // 06:28.. |

I have a warrior/mesmer myself. If you are going into a mele heavy area you have the basic 100 armor against mele plus skills to raise that some more and if you are going into a elemental heavy area (Shiverpeak Mountains, Fire Islands) you can bring [skill]mantra of earth[/skill][skill]mantra of flame[/skill][skill]mantra of lightning[/skill][skill]mantra of frost[/skill]. If the magics are mixed you can bring [skill]elemental resistance[/skill].

Necro - very versatile, Curse, blood spike, MM, BiP supporter, 55able Ele - Air spiker, earth tank, burn bomb flame fire wielder, water is huge in PvP Warrior - V cool, get up close and hack em up (goes well with /P for adren buffs) Ranger - Barrage, degen, trapper, toucher, thumper Mesmer - kinda with you here Monk - Most in demand proffesion in any PvP situation, 55able Assassin - Very cool iuf played right, can also farm with SF Dervish - With Avatars they can be amazing Paragon - Nerfed so badly, but still a fun build to play with the support shouts You're obviously new to the game but I can see you have given some thought to what to do... My advise is to pick one class for now and play alot with it, then add others as you go along. I play with 3 main chars, my necro (who can do about everything), my 1st Ranger (who can also do everything) and my snd Ranger (who is still surviving at 520K XP). I have 7 other chars that see little use atm.. hehehehe... So yeah, play, explore, research and T&E as much as you can... Join a guild that does alot of PvE and ask questions as often as you can... |

Sorry hate it when people ignore what Mesmers can do. But i agree with Destinyy on the fact it doesnt seem like you have given the professions much of a chance. The professions can be messed about with some taking advantage of their primary attribute to use other class's skills (Rangers expertise for low energy skills,Mesmers fast casting for fast spells,Ritualists spawning power for minion bombs ect) Quote:
If you really cant find enjoyment in any of the other professions then you should go along with Assassin.Dont let the low armor put you off an remember the shadow step skills they have |
