Obtaining Balthazar Faction points
I need some help understanding something about Balthazar Faction Points. How come I have an account that has about 1000 of them and an account that has next to none. How did the ones I have get there? How do I get more of them, especially for the account that has none?
I know that you get them from PvP, and I looked on Guild Wiki to try to do research, but I still don???t understand enough about the subject. For example, which PvP battles can I enter and still have my PvE character back? I had heard that if you cross over to PvP, your PvE character is doomed to stay there for ever, but then someone else told me that this is not the case. So which are the battles that are safe to enter with my PvE character and which battles are doom for my PvE character? Also, although I am an experienced PvE player, I have never done any PvP before, save some festival stuff like snowball fights and the like. So, which battles are recommended for beginner PvPers? Also, if I want to make a PvP character from scratch to try it out, is this a better recommendation for a beginner PvPer. Will I still get Balthazar Faction points that are usable for the whole account or will they only be good for that particular PvP character? Finally, what place is the quickest, most guarantied place to earn Balthazar Faction Points? Is there any place to get them without doing PvP? Thanks for your help. |

Your PvE character can enter ANY PvP battles without fear of losing your character.
Your Balthasar Faction points you have come from any PvP environment. Snowball Fights, Dragon arena, Random Arena, Team Arena, Alliance Battles, Heroes Ascent, and Guild vs Guild. They have a random scoring based on the area and party sixe you are in. You will be rewarded balthasar faction for kills, victories, consecutive victories, and flawless victories. Random Arenas and Alliance battles are usually where beginner PvP people start out to learn basics in builds and get comfortable on characters to find out which best suits their playstyle. Your pve character, like i said, can work in all PvP areas provided that you have the skills for the build that you are wanting to run. Or if you dont have the equipment on a certian character, or want a character to try out various builds on quickly, than i would suggest rolling a PvP only character. There is no quickest and most gaurenteed place to earn balthasar faction. This will depend on your skills, your teammates skills, and the PvP area youre in. Heroes Ascent and Guild vs Guild generally yield the highest faction return, but are also the most coordinated and usually require having a good knowledge of PvP before entering if youre lookign to win or acquire balth faction faster. |

You can use PvE chars for PvP and then return to PvE, if I didn't misunderstood the question.. There is NO "doom" for them.. For beginner PvP'ers would I recommend Random Arena, it's a good way to earn Balthazar faction too.

whoever is spreading this rumor of taking your pve character to pvp will doom them to eternal bad pugs and gimmick builds, needs to be shot in the face lol. the easiest way is (like it has been said) to go to random arenas to get acquainted with the general idea of pvp and guild wars. it may take a lil while to start with to start earning some decent faction but any joe schmoe can essentially walk in and earn a few thousand faction in a sitting. theres also alliance battles which deal out a decent amount of faction per battle and theyre quite fun (if you own factions anyways)

You also earn Balthazar Faction doing the Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry missions in Factions - this is in addition to your Kurzick or Luxon Faction earned.

Thanks, I will try the random arena then for my PvE characters and maybe make a PvP character to experiment with as well. I am glad there is no "doom" for my PvE character. Thanks for clearing that up.
