Which is a higher % way to get a green to drop? - Guild Wars Forums

I'm trying to get a green, monk wand to drop from Dunshek the Purifier outside of Lair of the Forgotten in Nightfall. I've killed him about 20 times with no luck so I want to know which situation is more likely to give me the drop:

1. Hard Mode: Bring a full 8 man party and dismiss your 3 Heroes right before you kill the boss.

2. Normal Mode: Dismiss all of your heroes and henchmen before you kill the boss.

He's a monk so it's pretty hard to kill him solo (even in a wurm) and especially so in Hard Mode. Anyway, which situation do you think has a higher percentage chance of getting the green?

i've been farming Dunshek with E/A Sliver Armor/Shadow Form and it is quite a rare green. I think it's 100% down to luck rather than by meeting any conditions.

If you really want a Purifier, i'll give you one. [IGN = Ambrosia Exxus].

I've been taking myself and 3 other heroes, running to the wurms, and then killing off Dunshek and the 3 ranger bosses in that area for a while now...

This is in hard mode of course...but I still haven't gotten any greens from any of them...

I don't know your specific situation... but depending on how hard it is to kill this boss, maybe it's better to do this in normal mode (so that each boss-killing run takes less time, and thus you can do more runs?)

by the way, what does dismissing heroes or henchies mean?

Dismissing heroes and henchies is when you "flag" them off the map so they appear gray in your party window. When this happens, they no longer get "credit" for drops in your area so anything the enemy drops will be allocated to you. It is a boss farming trick to use your henchies/heroes to kill everything around a boss, then send them away and take the boss solo for loot.
