I has some questions
I don't really understand the process of buying hero skills. I gather that i cn do this when i gain a promotion, such as with the sunspears. However when i do this it tells me i can choose 4 hero skills. After choosing two I find I can't choose anymore. Why is this? Currently I have 2 heroes: koss and dundarok (or whatever his name is).
I also find that there doesn't seem to be as many quests. I'm level 9 with a couple of hundred G and all I have left are two quests (one is storyline) that require me to reach first spear (I'm about 1/4 the way there). I'm In Istan, but the places Ive been too don't seem to have much more to offer if at all. I've been to Kamadan, Sunspear Great Hall, Champion's Dawn, the Diggings place and the Astralasium. No side quests left there. I'm not sure of the flow of the game or what i should be doing really. |

and for hero skills i got all my skills from other pve characters so i dont really understand hero skills 2 |

Each time you gain a level in the Sunspear track, you get a hero skill point which is what you use to buy hero skills. Since you gained two levels in the sunspear title track, you had two hero skill points to use, which you used to buy those skills. If you wanna be able to buy more hero skills, keep working on that sunspear title track. Eventually once you get higher ranks, you'll gain two hero skill points per promotion. Also you gain hero skill points when you progress in the Lightbringer title track too (which you'll work on later in the game).

What's your sunspear rank right now? If it's second spear, then you gained two levels in the sunspear title, not your character level. It says you can have 4 skills because as you progress in the sunspear track, you'll be able to buy more skills. Once you hit first spear, check back with the hero skill guy, you should be able to buy another skill.

It says you can have 4 skills, because thats how many he has available to teach you that you don't already have, not how many you can learn right now.

Ok, so what should I do questwise. I need another 65 or so points for First Spear (why is second spear two levels, how does that work?) which means i have to kill 65 things using the sunspear bounty stuff - that's more of a grind than i'd like.

Different hero skill trainers offer different skills.

Second spear is two levels because there is one before that: Sunspear Master Sergeant.

you has some questions huh? what like how to use verbs in a sentence correctly..jk ^^..the best way to attain skills for your hero is to play the profession of your hero in pve mode. Thus allowing you to get the starter skills and a few additional skills for your heros. E.g. if i wanted to unlock warrior skills for my hero, id start a new warrior in pve [story mode] do a few quests and unlock a few skills. I think thatd have to be the most simplistic way to get skills quick for your heros, but theres always the pvp editions....allowing you to unlock massive amounts of pvp skills at once enabling your heros to use the skills as well. Those however cost 39.99 per campaign.
Anywho... i hope ive helped |

Ok, time for a full breakdown:
OK, the whole skill acquisition system: -skills can be learned by receiving the skill as a quest reward, paying a skill trainer to teach you the skill (costing 1 skill point and some gold), paying one hero skill point to a hero skill trainer or by capturing the skill from the corpse of a boss creature with a signet of capture. Whenever you learn a skill, you also unlock the skill for the whole account. -skills can be "unlocked". This means that whenever one of your characters learns a skill, the skill becomes "unlocked" for all the characters on the account. The skill can thereafter be used by any PvP only characters on the account, the heroes of any character on the account, and any PvE character can learn the skill from any skill trainer in the appropriate campaign (you still need to pay for the skill, though). -hero skill points are earned every time you earn a rank in either the sunspear title track or the lightbringer title track. The first two ranks are worth one hero skill point, the ranks above are worth 2 hero skill points. As for the game progress: Get a rank more, and you will find that new areas and new quests will appear. |

The towns you listed do not include Black Tide Den or the Metanni Keys. Those are two more places to get quest, missions and sunspear points.

I don't think anyone's really answered your question about quests yet. Sounds to me like you're trying to do all the quests and you don't have that many left so you're wondering what to do next.
1) Press "L" in game. That shows the quests you need to complete. Always follow the quests in the "Primary" header. This is how you advance the game. The other quests listed under the territory are secondary which contribute to the story but aren't necessary to move the game along. 2) Make sure you don't have a mission open. Press "M" to bring up your map. If you see a shield-type object that is blinking on your map, that means you need to do that mission. Complete the mission, you'll probably get moved to another area, and you should see some characters with "!" above their heads. 3) You can also type "/wiki" when you are in-game and that will bring up the official guildwars wiki in your browser. You can then search for quests/missions and see what you still need to do. You probably know some of this stuff, but I tried to make it clear for those that may read that don't. Ranks are like in the military. A 2nd lieutenant reports to a 1st lieutenant. Think of it as becoming "first" of something, and being "first" implies highest of a certain something. Do you really think 65 creatures is a grind? It really is nothing. Just walking from place to place doing quests will net you 65 points. Just make sure you talk to the people standing next to the resurrection shrines so you get sunspear points for killing things. You'll get 65 in no Time. |
