How do you do it in this game?

If you try and move closer to a mob to aggro it and not it's mates then it just stays where it is.

Your heroes, regardless of whether you position them or use the guard command, will aggro everything because they move around.

Mobs themselves will move as well, triggering the very mobs you didn't want to aggro.

The aggro circle itself is quite large relative to the density of mobs which can make it impopssible to aggro one or two.

I cannot see how you can do it.

the best way to pull a mob is to equip a longbow and pull it from a safe distance enemies will normally come if not just fire another arrow and they should...if your heroes are positioned a reasonable distance away they shouldn't over aggro other enemy groups!

To pull with AIs around, first, set them to "guard". That way, they won't run around after the enemy. Beware the henchmen, as the melee ones are going to be trouble. Preferably, flag them behind you, about a spell's range away.

Second, use a longbow or flatbow. With it, fire an arrow and begin moving back. When the arrow hits, the group will charge toward you.

Make sure enemy groups are not intermixed, as aggroing one will also aggro the others.

If you want to fix the attention of the enemy on one tank character, it's more complex still. You can become the target of the enemy the same way as above, but additionally, you must not give the enemy a chance to reevaluate their attack priorities. So, fire the longbow shot, then stand still (moving reevaluates aggro) while the rest of the group is far away. Once the monsters start damaging you, call in the reinforcements. Watch it that you don't move (for example, by switching to a melee weapon and shield combo while attacking).

Flag the entire party a safe distance away. If you have a pet set it on "heel" so it stays with you. Equip a long bow and approach with caution. Target closest enemy and get ready to run back to party.

I wouldn't suggest that. You just need to flag them at a good distance so they don't run up with you and so you don't lose some of the mob while you're running back. The ideal is is 3 or 4 and no more.

Another way to do that is to slowly back up to them (you're backing up so you're facing the right way to run) so you're aggro bubble just touches one of them. Then run.

Exactly. If there's a patrol mixed in, wait til they move on. You have to be patient when you're pulling.

What I do is right after I shoot the arrow, I hit x, to turn around and then r to run. It saves a lot of time.

Couple other notes:

If you are playing solo, but have allies in your party it is very hard to pull properly.

Having a long bow is important and you need to start running back asap. The mob and the allies should follow but watch their health.

Sometimes there are patrols...these are mobs that follow a set pattern. It is wise when in key areas to wait a bit to see if a patrol is coming before you pull.

You cannot pull forever, the mob will eventually break off. If you let them hit you on the way back to your flagged party they are more likely to stay aggro'd.
