As for level cap, let that phrase go right out of your head. It isn't important to GW. The important thing is there is SO much to do you will spend forever playing. You get to create different characters and try each part again. There are hundreds and hundreds of skills, achievement and items to locate, and only a few have them all. There are landscapes to see and dungeons to delve. Level cap just isn't important to the vocabulary of a GW player. |

Hours = 56k.
Anyway, yeah everything prior to level 20 is really a tutorial in GW. GW doesn't even really "begin" until level 20 (at least that's when it starts to get a lot more challenging and fun). |

Several hours is what it will take if you want to download all the content at once. You don't need to do this as the game will download files as you goto different areas you haven't been to, however depending on the area and what you already have downloaded, as well as your internet connection, this can take some time and it's usually a better idea to get the game to download everything while you sleep. You can do this by making a copy of you guildwars shortcut on your desktop, and then making the following change in it:
change the target line from "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" (or whatever the path etc is to the gw.exe file) to "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image -image tells the client to go grab every update to every area in the game and download and then uncompress them all so that step is already down when you go anywhere in the game. |

I have no idea what this hours thing is. Imaging took me a little less than 40 mins and that was with a thunderstorm knocking the power out a couple of times. Like Hawk said, Hours = 56k.
As I think someone has already said, level 20 might be the highest, but that doesn't automatically make you top dog. There are many elites, armors, weapons and standard skills to get. But don't think that they are exclusive to only level 20s. Also, couple of tips. Don't sell white or black dyes to people for 100g, total rip off. Don't dye your puny armor or backpack with white or black dye. Take your time, learn the game mechanics, try your hand at PVP (if you want), ask for help if you need it, etc etc. Most importantly, enjoy Pre (starter area) while you can. Ah, such nostalgia. |

being lvl 20 doesn't exclude getting more skills, I've been playing since 2005 about 3-hours a day and on my main char I haven't gotten all skills yet (although I capped all elite skills in the game - having all campaigns and gw:en - which on it own totals around 291000gold spent). game play resolves around skills and there synergy. about you specials items, just type /bonus in you chat window and there will spawn some bonus items (I have em too and use them for my hero's, they are not bad, but better items can be found by play too). |

Level is a relative thing. Level 20's versus Level 20's is really no different from Level 70's versus Level 70's. There is a lot more to do than just level up in GW.

been playing since beta have yet to complete Profacies (which is what you have). Of corse I have a job and a family and been working on the other chapters and multiple charicters. There is still alot of things to do in the game you didn't waste your money. Key thing is making friends in the game that helps alot even though most people don't group it's still better to go in a group then by yourself.

As so many others have said, life begins at level 20.
After you hit level 20, you will keep gaining experience. Every so often, you'll earn skill points in this way. This will let you keep on expanding your character's repertoire of skills, giving you an even greater degree of flexibility. In GW, flexibility counts for a lot. The more skills at your disposal, the more options you have when it comes to planning builds for the areas you travel through and the enemies you find yourself up against. This game primarily rewards player skill - how you arrange your character's available skills into builds and how you combine your selection of skills in the field. The level cap is arbitrary, and the lower level cap at 20 is great as it means that even the most casual of players can get a max level character and enjoy the game content without having to grind for weeks on end. Though if you're into grinding, there are plenty of optional opportunities for grinding (title tracks, for example). |

Since you already opened the game, there's no harm in trying. But you really should read game reviews before buying them. Just remember that in the future.

thanks for all the helpful hints... its not that bad of a game anyways... n yes i do like grinding and trying to get from lvl 43-46 to get that next new good skill... thats my drive to keep playing
n no i didnt read the reviews because upon going into the store my intentions were to buy a COMPLETELY different game... I was told by same clan members to get a game called Joint Operations : Typhoon Rising, and when i went to the store they didnt have it... i was looking at other games n i remember one of them saying guildwars is a fun game too... n since i live pretty far from an EB Games n i dont get out there too often i bought it not knowing about the lvl cap... i was more focused on trying to figure out when the next time id get out there (2months or so) then the game n i wanted another MMO anyways...!
