Now I'm not as naive as to think the numbers aren't fudged some how, but I think a lot of people fail to realise how popular this game actually is. Numbers like these don't include such things as people who have 2 accounts. My boss who is an avid MMO player always has 2 accounts (Inc. GW). I guess what I'm trying to say is that there probably is somewhere around 9 million "active" accounts, but as to whether there are 9 million people playing. I really doubt it very much. |

WoW:
-long time to pass a level -long time to find someone who doesn't do HM dungeons (so, for new people, it's really hard to do dungeons in Nm in Wow now, because all guilds, guildies, etc have already stuff, reputations and don't want to spend more time in NM) -HL people, for 90%, talks only about Karazhan -Finish the whole game is nearly impossible (Illidan,...) -comic graphics -money spend in broken armors GW -easy to understand -linear -too quickly finished -beautiful graphics -no monthly fees -presents at birthday, events,... some people will say that there are a lot of young people in GW...There are a lot of old people in WoW but some of them believe they are God There are good and bad points on each of these games...You'll better try each one and choose by yourself. You'll see what kind of gameplay you want more |

Having played both, there are things to like and dislike about both.

All in all, I stuck with GW because the dislikes are minor in comparison, and with WoW feeling like a chore, I didn't want to play it. GW you can pick up and put down and not be bored -- great for the casual gamer. BTW = I didn't address PVP because I rarely PVP So there's my nickel's worth! |

There are a number of reasons I don't play WoW and prefer GW. I will give you two, the monthly fee and the fact that you always get some moron who will either steal from you or sit and wait on things to reanimate in farming.
No thanks. I would get too aggravated. |

I used to play WoW and currently starting to get back on GW and I would say that if you can afford the monthly fees and enjoy playing for more time to get to the highest level then get it DEFINETLY. The main bad reasons about WoW is that you have to pay monthly but let me tell you this. GW makes money in another clever way. Say you want to make a solo farmer which after you get many lvl 20s you will probably start doing. To make the best you need skills from prophecies, factions,nf and maybe eye of the north. So it kind of depends how long you actually will play these games because both of them will probably make you spend quite a bit on them. WoW also has a WAY bigger map then GW and also a problem that I find with GW is if you don't have every GW game to play with friends on many different areas and stuff it gets boring after you get to lvl 20.

If I could be bothered I would find the link to where blizzard admited to saying they DO included anyone whos ever played the game in the amount of people playing. This is why they now say the number of people that have entered the game not the amount of people playing. As for other reasons not to play the worst game I've ever played just read most of the other posts. |
