Nightfall or Prophecies?
Sorry for posting this thread again but the mods dont understand i need personal opinions, NOT a guide with charts and whistles, okay? Then i tried contacting the mod, but never on. So here is my repost.
I was thinking of getting prophecies or nightfall since i got factions and beat it on one character, or is that too early to get it? If not what should i get next? Proph has the nice skills, especially for wammos and nightfall has heroes and stuff... So what would you recommend? If i get prophecies, should i make chars in factions, get them to 20 and then do prophecies or what? Im really confused with this, should i try to get 4 characters to beat factions or what? >.< Is one to little to focus on? Sumone provide me with sum clarity please Last edited by Exhonour; Oct 31, 2007 at 10:47 PM // 22:47.. |

Prophecies is *the* original Guild Wars. Playing through that campaign gives you a bit more insight into the game world and some of the major players in it. Having said that, it is also the slowest campaign, in terms of character development. You do, however, get many skills as quest rewards, whereas the other 2 campaigns don't give skills as regular quest rewards.
Nightfall, OTOH, has heroes, which are a huge improvement, gets you to max level quicker, and has a setting I find more enjoyable. It has a more open, grander feel to it, and you won't have to navigate a maze-like urban area like you have to in Factions. Prophecies won't add any new professions either, whereas Nightfall will add the Dervish and Paragon professions. I also find the elite skills in factions and Nightfall to be superior to the ones found in Prophecies. |

I would really really suggest prophecies, because it has an awesome storyline and, you get skills for doing quests. Prophecies is a great choice for starters and people who have played it before Hope i helped a bit. Oh hey Exhonour, i remember we talked about this ingame once

Oh and if you get prophecies you should consider getting it bundled with GW:EN.

I think you should at least play the prophecies storyline from the beginning once, jus cos it cool, and a lot of lore is based around it , but otherwise a factions made character will get you to 20 quick and easy. |

My vote - if it comes down to one or the other, get Nightfall (or EoN)

If storyline is important to you, then start a character fresh in Prophecies. This character will not reach Level 20 as quickly as your Factions characters did, but they will still be at a high enough level to handle the monsters thrown at them in Prophecies. |

I'd really suggest the platinum edition.. 10 dollars more, and you get prophecies, EotN, and 10 heroes come with that if you're leaning towards NF for the heroes.

If you can get the platinum edition, then I'd say get that. Otherwise get nightfall. Heroes are pretty much standard gear nowadays. You don't have to use them, but having the option is good. Having no option is bad. And some places in prophs and NF, are avoid by most people so having heroes around will be something you won't regret having.

Look in shops or online stores around, Prophesies can be gotten at quite low prices now. Nightfall is going to be at least $10 more than that.
Its an interesting situation, not having Prophesies first, because half of Prophesies is sub-level 20 content, it will be weird especially since you were fast-tracked to level 20 in Factions. Prophesies is great for all the free skills that you can get questing, so that when you have Nightfall, your heroes will have a wide spectrum of skills. |

factions 39.99 nightfall 49.99 im pretty sure i might be getting prophecies for these reasons: - wanna do all those 25 missions as compared to the little 13 in factions - want to witness the first guildwars and its story line - want all those skills - want to have a non-asian theme - becuz its cheaper comes out to only 35 bucks with taxes and i wonder how much platinum edition would be, id love to get gwen with dungeons, heroes, since the only reason i really want nightfall is a few skills and heroes and gwen is 29.99 Last edited by Exhonour; Nov 02, 2007 at 01:04 AM // 01:04.. |

If you think that you might get Gwen later on then definitely get Prophecies.
If you only get one game, then Prophecies still offers the most bang for your buck. Seeing as you won't be able to PvP much because of your limited skill available, Prophecies is the game with the most longevity. My advice is to get Prophecies and start a character from there (pre-searing is imo seriously some of the most fun to be had in the game). Whatever you do, if you love the game, get all the chapters. |

If I were you I would get Nightfall, the storyline is great even if you start from factions, because you arrive right after the horrible noob island of Istan, and the armor sets there are IMO much better than proph, and with Dervish and Paragon you get more Gameplay opportunities (hence farming as well =p) (can you say 130hp dervish?) whereas in Prophecies you only have 6 professions and a slow storyline with incredibly long missions and In my opinion Nightfall with the New professions, 150+skills, leet armors, and to top it off, heroes and one of the best elite areas for farming.
