1. unlock pvp items through pve for free (if you salvage a good drop in pve its contents may unlock something you dont have in pvp) 2. to take my prized pve character into pvp with everything a pvp character could have. 3. to buy all the cool things i wanted |

the only benefit a PVP character or Balthazar unlock points have for a PVE character are
Heros can use any skill unlocked though pvp or pve A few titles And skills unlocked with balthazar points can be learned by a pve character through skill trainers or skill tomes at an earlier stage in the game. PVE characters can unlock skills mods runes inscriptions through play that in turn can help the PVP only character. It all sounds rather confusing but its not once you play it a few times... IF PVP is your thing i suggest diving straight into and learning it from the get go because there are serious conflicts in the way to the game is played PVE vs PVP PVP will teach you the better way to play imo...most PVP players can excell at PVE but that isn't always true of PVE players....they have alot of "unlearning" to do inorder to be successful at PVP because the game play is totally different...or rather the goals are different. |

Welcome, it's a bit outdated but the manual for prophecies is really helpful for the basics (if u get to a section about attribute refunds for instance lol, its been taken out of the game). Nightfall manual has more of th eupdated schemes.
You seem to know what your doing lol. took me ages until i became a member of these forums. wiki.guildwars.com is a very helpful website you may like. This game isn't really about leveling. once you've hit level 20 its mostly about the combinations of skills and attribute points you use. You mentioned something about needing to do pvp for pve. you don't really have to inless you want to obtain balthazar faction to buy your account skills for heros. Also in the factions game there is a pvp game called alliance matches. You can gain alliance faction for your account which can buy you many things in pve. You can obtain this faction though pve anyway. Well you said you wernt going to get the other expansions yet so i dont know why i sed this Last edited by BenjZee; Nov 07, 2007 at 09:00 PM // 21:00.. |

Actually i went ahead and bought factions yesterday. So i have them all but the newest one. From reading everyones posts it seems as if there is alot to do post 20 which is nice. the way i was looking i thought it pretty much ended at 20 and all there was after that was fluff.

lvl 20 content in PvE is mostly geared towards titles and the look of your char.
There are some areas that are only open to you once you complete the storyline, and after that they are repeatable. Many of the best items in the game, looks wise, drop only in these End of Game areas. PvE is most fun when you play with others. It is also easiest to complete most zones with live people rather than heros or hench. |
