Skill Hunter titles - Opinions on the best way to do it
Ok, so after busting 75k on my Darkwing Defender, I'm in need of something to do (got bored with HM). I've taken an interest in capping all the elite skills for the skill hunter title, and need opinions on how to do it.
Should I go profession by profession? Area by area? Campaign by campaign? In order of difficulty? In order of usefulness (unlocking for heroes)? Also, is it possible to have a checklist sort of thing so I can quickly check which elites I'm missing? Does something like this already exist? Have you found that this is a problem? Thanks in advance, Marty |

i did it using wiki.
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Skills_by_capture_location and just went through the whole thing skill by skill (in order). If your memory is not up to the task i suppose you could print it out and cross out the ones you have done. took about 2 weeks(?) not long and was probably the most fun ive had in GW (new skill= new HH build) came up with some nice team builds (not the most effective sure... but funny) its as expensive as hell so..having a budget is recomended imo. Here's a link to just what you need:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10214199 I did mine profession by profession for Prophecies & factions. I did area by area in Nightfall. |

Do it by profession first, then by area.
I.E. "*/N" All Nec elites in prophecies, then in factions, then in nightfall. That way you also don't forget to make sure you have the right secondary profession. This is the way I did it. |

Is being organised that difficult?
Just cap by whichever method works for you and stick to it. That way you won't have to go looking through lists to find what you're missing. |

If you haven't already capped all the elites for your primary profession, then you can often get multipe elites per trip.

I found this very helpful for figuring out if there were multiple elites I could cap in the area I was going into. It was also good for keeping track of what I had capped and what I had left. It does not (I think) cover GW:EN bosses though, which is a real shame. I would cross check against wiki if it looks like a hard cap as there may be cap locations or tips not included in mapping out. Also, mapping out does not show the path to the boss like the original wiki boss maps do, so good idea to check there just for that. |

I used Mapping Out and did it in this order:
1) Find areas with most elites for your primary and also a secondary and cap those off first. 2) Cap the easier/closer elites. ie. A boss that spawns near a portal to a town. 3) Find any caps that can be done easier in GW:EN. 4) Cap the rest off. |

I did mine so far by campaign/profession. I did each in one full run.
That is, I looked at the wiki page for "Core:Warrior elites" and capped all of them in one go. Started at the top of the list and went down (well, sorta, if I happened to actually want an elite from one profession I went ahead and cleared all of that one too). It's easy to remember where you are at. It may be somewhat more efficient to cap all of one professions elites in one area - but it is already put into a nice easy form to read and keep track of. Plus if you cap in HM you can still gain the respective faction points so no big deal if you have to kill the same enemies every once in a while. It always seemed more work to keep up with the spreadsheets and stuff than what you saved by clearing out by area. |

I actually did my capping runs by zone. I used mapping out to track what was where, and what I had left, but I just started in prophecies and capped all in one zone before moving onward.

1) first by profession (since you will only have to change profession the minimum number of times); 2) then second by continent (minimum number of changes). By the way, I discovered this week-end that you can buy dozens of signets of capture from Skill trainers, so that you don't have to come back there between two cappings Happy capping! |

Another thing is to always find out just what bosses are on a map when you go looking for a skill, you might find 2-3 on the same map that can be capped at the same time.
eg, in nightfall - smoke trap, quicksand and magebane shot are all on the same map, 3 ranger elites in one run. |

Hi, i've just started skill hunter this weekend and decided to do Elona first.
What I did was first off all cap all core elites, then went through by proffesion, looking at the list on wiki and going down top to bottom of each profs skill list till i had them all. I'm up to assassin now just that, rit, para and derv left |

Additionally, some bosses don't spawn sometimes (in Perdition Rocks, either Maxine Coldstone or Harn Coldstone, but not the two of them) |

I made a check list for all elites by profession. If you'd like it, pm me with your email and I'll send it to you. It's a word doc that you can print out and check off as you get them.

I second Mapping Out, it helped me TONS. Also, look for multiple caps you can make in a single run- for example, on my necro I would look for maps that had both necro and another profession caps, then did both at the same time. Saved me perhaps an extra 50 runs.

I do it by proffesion and also by usefulness. I started by capping all warrior elites ( my chars a warrior ) then started on necro, working through them by picking ones I want to play about with on my heroes or on my char.

My suggestion to you would be:
Go by profession from top to bottom in the list without skipping "difficult places/skills". This saves you some nerves towards the end.^^ Quote:
