Hmmm.... Well, after they were introduced, they were so absurdly overpowered, that they made pvp into a big joke. A very large number of nerfs later (not balance changes, but straight out nerfs), they've been brought down into a reasonable state. In PvE, well, don't leave the outpost without them, especially if they are played by real players. |

Paragons provide some of the best DPS on their own with ranged attacks, they can build up adrenaline much faster than a warrior, they can provide pressure heals to help make the monks job easier, energy management is stupidly simple (make you wonder why Soul Reaping was nerfed again).. I could go on..
They're crap at splitting though, that's about the only thing. |

Hammer paragon's are usually inferior compared to their warrior counterparts because of limitation of IAS skills (using aggressive refrain will bring your armour level down to that of a squishy).

With Paragons the larger the party the more powerfull they become. With more people affected by thier shouts they get more energy back and can keep up shouting indefinately.
In parties size 4 or smaller they tend to be less effective though they can still dish out some nice dmg and if the buffs are timed correctly be very effective with those as well. I have noticed paragons seam to have a limited variety of builds, 3-4 good builds and thats about it. |

I remember way back when people thought Rangers sucked. Then they said it was Rits when Factions came out. And it's been Paragons ever since Nightfall.
Who are you people, and how do you keep doing this? |

And yet everyone swears by the holy trinity. I've had more success with teams without a crappy monk, a war that can't tank or give damage, or an ele that swears by his SF build.
Paras are great. They may have few elites or build combos, but they don't need them. A few spear skills, AF, TNTF, and party supports, and they will lift any team to success. I cut through NF like butter on a paragon. As for "give him a build, then," play with the character, find his strengths, and make your own builds. Being used to them, you will probably play them better than any cookie cutter off lamebuildwiki. [email protected] being lame. most popular class on here. |

I love my paragon, I can't wait till the update that I can take 7 heroes into PVE and have at it, the heroes do the best with my calls, the henchies show no difference. And PUGS, yuck, people first need to know what aggro is between team-mates as well as enemies.
A paragon doesn't do but a fraction of the overall killing, but she helps her team kill more quickly and efficiently. |

Well anything that runs "nothing to fear", ias of choice (i dislike agressive refrain with ai monks), 2-3 spear attacks, 1-2 offensive support skills and 1-2 defensive support skills is a good build. If u have 2 paras, then one bring the offensive support and the other the defensive. And PARAGONS THROW SPEARS, so use them.

Ok, this has been discussed many many times, so this question doesn't really have an answer to it, some people like paragons, other's don't.
