Question about target health bar
In PvE, is there a way to see which hexes, enchants, or conditions a target has on them?
Thanks. |

You can see what your heros have on, but you cant see what hex/condition/enchant are on your hench or other party members. If you could it would kind of take the communication side of things between your team memebers away.

No, I don't believe there is. If you're casting them yourself then I think you just have to remember. It is obviously harder if heroes and henchmen are casting them.
You can see what is on you and your heroes though, but not other party members. |

Huh, that's really surprising. That may be the first thing I've noticed that is better in WoW.
Now I understand the complaints by mesmers saying that other group members can't see how they contribute. In WoW, I played a warlock, and although I wasn't dropping huge bombs, my group couldn't avoid noticing the DoTs and curses piling up on the target. Oh well. ...oh, one more question: Is there a way to remove the underlined name that floats around an enemy's ankles? I mean, I know what a skale is by now, I don't need all that text clutttering up my view when I'm trying to manage a crowd of targets. And you can just see the name on the target bar if you really want to.....I don't get it. |

If it can be done, it will be in the interface tab. Press F11 to bring up the options menu and look in the interface tab. Workin on a sociology essay atm, so no time to check in game atm.

Mesmers are specialized at shutdown and counters, not hex/condition stacking. Degen also tends to be sub-optimal in PvE, unless it's AoE degen, and even then it's questionable. Necromancers and assassins would be considerably better at stacking degen. |

Hexes or wells that cause degen turn the target's health bar pink/purple. Poison and Disease turn the bar green. Bleeding turns it a pale pink. Deep Wound, like Exhaustion, turns the upper portion of the bar gray to represent the 20% max health lost.
Cracked Armor, Weakness, Cripple, Burning, Blind, and Daze have no effect on the bar besides the brown down-arrow. However, to compensate, they have very noticeable visual effects on the character model. Cracked Armor is a ring of smoke around the feet; Weakness has a similar ring of smoke, but with some practice you can tell them apart. Cripple causes the target to limp. Burning is, obviously, flames around the target. Blind is a black cloud around the target's eyes, and Daze is a white pulsing circle around their head. But for hexes, you'll just have to watch closely and learn the animations for common hexes, or tab around and see who cast it. Or maybe ask, if they're on your team. EDIT: And Enchantments, again, watch for animations. They tend to be more noticeable than hexes. Last edited by GD Defender; Nov 24, 2007 at 08:47 PM // 20:47.. |

^ nice post. This is one thing I've often wondered about myself, particularly when trying to determine if it is my hex or the necro's (for instance) that still remains/has been removed on/from the target.

CDittric77,
Exactly! I don't know why someone wouldn't want to know that. Seems like it would be easily fixed, but I couldn't find any mod that shows the "afflictions" on a target. |
