Question about banning ^^ - Guild Wars Forums

Hey, on this old iway account that I use for kix, I recently got temp banned on it for no stated reason besides 'breach of user agreement or rules of conduct code=045'

I brushed it off because its only temp and on my alt.

but it started bothering me because:
1) No clue why I got banned
2) It could be 1 of several things and I don't want to repeat the mistake
3) It was really annoying...

SO....

What I'm asking is, what of the listed reasons, do you think I may have been banned for:

-Suggestive email address/account name (ye stupid to be banned for, but I haven't logged in for the past 2 years on it, it got banned 2 days after logging on)

-Spamming the tiger emote in people's faces and running around in pre

-Leaving during a LA run

-looking for a run to droks, and when the guy tells me to pay before we leave I say 'no noob' then procceed to rank him

eh... that's all the reasons I can think of atm...

if it makes ANY difference, it occurred right after I traded like 5 armbraces to it, but my main who traded it to her didn't get banned, so gg?

Neither of what you listed is a reason for ban, but from your consistent mentioning of ranking, I'd assume you annoyed people in some way not mentioned.

Hi

It seems like A-Net is on a Banning Spree because I just got banned yesterday for no apparent reason as well.

I have tried to look at every single possible reason that I could be banned for and just like your reasons, none of them seem to be anything big enough for someone to get banned over.

The biggest thing I can think of is on Nov 20 (I remember because it was my brithday) I sold the Miniature Vizu minipet that I won in the Guild Wars Halloween Art Contest to someone. Maybe Arenanet saw me going from very poor (50k in storage) to very rich (hundreds of ectos) in one day so maybe they suspect me of duping or buying in game items with real world money or something like that. Which I absolutely did not do of course, but who knows what the person I sold Vizu to has done.

Anyway, the error message saying I got banned showed up when I was trying to switch characters so I immediately emailed support and all I've gotten back is a useless automatic response. I've "updated" my question (added more post to the original message) several times but no one is paying any attention.

It's been about 27 hours now, 44 more to go, and all I can say is that if any money or ectos are missing when I get back I'm going to be extremely extremely upset.

I assure you, I would not waste my time 'complaining' about being banned, hence that's everything I could possibly have done that I would think potentially got me temp banned on an alt.

If you took their money and were doing the run then left, that's consitered scamming and yes I'd have to agree that you should be banned for that

I didn't really think about it when I first read your post, for some reason I assumed that someone was running you to LA and you left.

nah, I was being run to LA on a new character, and left in the middle because it was slow. It was a full party, so, who knows what they did after I left.

While I think that some of the things you did were immature and not very nice, I see people doing that kind of thing in Gulid Wars every single day so I can't imagine them banning every single one of them.

the only thing that was immature would be leaving during the LA run, but, seriously, does that even matter in the grand scheme of things?

Also, this was a friends account- if that makes a difference (which by now you're saying FFS WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT TO BEGIN WITH)

its worth a shot of u register with a different email , you just have to list the one the accounts under,they do not do a verification.

You can give them the email addres at which to contact you seperate from the account's email address.

Also I would suggest giving the names of all of the characters on the account in your message, and also repeat the name of the email address the account is attached to in your message, because I got an automatic response asking for this information so hopefully it will save you some time with them.

Ok, we can't really find out the exact reason for your banning, just contact support or wait it out.
