Question about Platinum addition - Guild Wars Forums

I just bought Platinum editions and noticed it doesnt have night fall and factions in it... am i missing out on anything big? should i go buy those 2 also or are they not really worth it since Platinum is the "first true expansion" ?

Platinum Edition includes both Prophecies and Eye of the North. Factions and Nightfall can act as stand alone games, or essentially as an "expansion". They can act as stand alone games in that you don't need anything else to play them. They can act as an "expansion" by adding the key to your account to allow travel to the continent the game takes place in for all characters in the account, unlocks the two character classes to become playable as both primary and secondary professions, and gives you two more character slots.

Factions and Nightfall both include 2 character classes each and a large amount of skills. Nightfall also includes more heroes. You miss out on the selection of skills that those campaigns offer, even if you can get them in Eye of the North areas.

For dedicated fans, Factions and Nightfall are worth it.

Eye of the North is the first true expansion in that it can not be played without any other version of the game.

Play through prophecies and see if you like it. if you do, go ahead and get the other two. don't just buy the other two because you think you're 'missing out'. Make sure you like the game first.
