I have a regular guild wars account from along time ago b4 all the new factions came out and i just recently bought the platinum edition b/c i lost my GW CD's if i use my old guild wars account for the new Platinum Version i just bought and dont use the CD key will all the dungeons and new skills still be unlocked if if i dont use the new Platinum CD key? or will i have to make a entirely new account and use the CD key that came with the Platinum version?

help would be appreciated

Try adding the key that came with the Platinum Edition to your current account. You can do this by clicking on "Add an Access Key" at the log-in screen. Enter your account e-mail and password and try entering the key in the window that comes up.

Installing from the CD does nothing more than put the data onto your machine.
You can play a proph only account on the same datafile as you play an account that has all campaigns.

The email and password you use to log into the game must have a key for whatever content you want to play.

The CDs are just another way to install the game client and the Gw.dat file. If you ever loose your CDs again, remember that you don't need those to reinstall the game, you can just download from the official website.

What gives you access to the various in game content is the access keys ou tied to an account. All the relevent information, including what campaigns you have access to etc. is stored on anet's servers.

If you already had the original and you just bought the platinum edition, you kinda ripped yourself off as the platinum edition gives you the original + eotn, you could have gotten the same content by just buying eotn
