Is 8 skill slots enough?
I personally don't think 8 slots are enough. If you think otherwise or agree with me tell me why or why not.

8 is just the right amount. It forces you to think, plan and come up with a strategy. If you can't do that, this game really isn't for you. Any more than that and it would truly be c-spacing.
I'm not saying you have to be able to do that right off the bat, I know I couldn't. It takes getting used to, but it's really better the way it is than if there were more. |

8 slots is fine. Any more will further imbalance GW.

for the most part, 8 skills is just enough to pull of specific roles, and do certain tasks. Rather than just having one person able to do everything (wouldnt be as fun)

8 is fine and gosh all of us who have been playing from new to earliest beta (me) seem to have had a lot of fun with only 8. how many would you suggest by the way? i think 2 skill bars of 10 might be nice along with a third skill bat holding no more than 10 PVE only skills oh wait you need another bar for at least 5 elites at a time. where do you draw the line? |

Eight is enough because the game is designed around that.

Am I dreaming this or was the reason for there being 8 skills because they came from 8 rings one for each finger.
Seem to remember reading that somewhere. edit Oh and 8 is fine with me |

8 is what seperates this game from WoW. This is a skill based game, not some game that forces you to stay for months to be of a threat to the PvP/PvE world. So time is irrelevent, showing true skill and good tactics is real power.
Although i seem to recall a "9th skill" in the beta version being told |

I've wanted 1 or 2 more skills from time to time (mostly just for versatility in some PvP builds), but 8 skills is good. Having a relatively low number of skills forces you to be resourceful in selecting and using your skills. The more experienced you become in the game the less you'll feel the need for more skills due to acquired resourcefulness. Moreover, it adds strategy in PvP because you'll want to find and target weaknesses in your oponent's builds and prevent your oponent from exploiting your weaknesses.

I think they should have kept the 9th slot in the game and reserved it for resurrection skills.
Apparently it was suggested in the past, but the dev team ultimately said no. 8 is fine though. |

I agree entirely, what's the question? oh goody, a dead horse...
Seriously though if this were actually designed as a *PVE game, there would be little reason to have the 8 skill cap. But as you can see (and *hopefully* understand somewhat) the limit is necessary to maintain some balance and fairness. Think about a warrior with 12 adrenaline building skills and 12 adrenaline skills? It would NEVER stop.... |

I would entertain the idea of 10 skill slots.
There are ten "number" keys" on a qwerty keyboard after all. Also the more skills that are available the more "varied" that builds out there will become. As an example if you were only allowed 4 skills, the four best skills would be used in pve and everyone would be the same, or in the case of pvp, the 4 skills that primarily countered the previous "best" build. 10 skills would add variety, perhaps if you were forced to make the last two be skills from your secondary class. However 8 is just fine. It forces compromise and a degree of forethought. That will never change. Until, perhaps, Guild Wars 2. This horse has been beaten into a smooth, mousse-like paste. Spread it on a cracker like cheese and enjoy it with some nice wine. |

8 skills is enought, i would love a 9th slot for my sin tho.. i never have enought skill slots to bring any pve skills besides crit agility unless i sacrifice a lot of my survivability. a 9th slot that is ALWAYS a rez sig in pve would be nice.. eh, i'm happy with 8 slots, why do it with more when you can with less. |

Its far to late to make any changes at this late stage.
That being said I would Have like it if your char started with 4 skill slots and gained more through equioping items. Imagine an armor insigina that granted your +1 skill slots vs +1 energy regen. You could build an ele with 10 skills but only 2 pips of energy regen. Still way to late for such thinking at this point. |
