Rapier skin or other skin for IW?
Is there any Rapier-like skin for a sword? I haven't found any, just curious if anyone else has.
On a side topic: What weapons do people like for their Illusionary Weaponry Mesmers? |

I think this may be close to what you're looking for. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Jade_Sword
As for what to use, something with multiple strike per attack capabilities & speed. An IW/Assassin build could work well against single targets. |

Maybe I'll just use a Katana. Yeah, I'm making another Mesmer in Factions just to get the Assassin secondary for Feigned Neutrality. http://www.wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feigned_Neutrality

As for Rapiers, there are no such swords in Guildwars. Now, if you want something that has a long straight and thin blade, something can be found, just not rapiers.
Jade Sword Long Sword Sephis Sword Those 3 come to mind. Although they have a traditional sword Hilt and not a curved hand guard usually depicting a rapier. Now as for Illusionary Weaponry itself, Attack Speed is linked to the type of weapon, not the profession. Hammers and scythes attacking slowest, then swords and axes and then daggers Hammers being the worst choice for IW, swords and axes being "ok", dagger being a bit better but loosing the ability of the shield and Scythes being the best for their multiple targeting strikes. |

IW with feigned neutrality is a sweet idea. I should get my mes ready to try that out!

True a Jitte is thin, but it also looks like a large blunt sai, which is what I consider it mostly as.
Arent those hard to get? |

imo for an IW mes you gotta go with the crystalline skinned longsword from pre.
Otherwise, I think your best bet would be a Tengu sword (if you have the bmp) or a broadsword. |

There's nothing really like a rapier in this game. I'll admit, the jade sword is a beauty, but it's not quite a rapier.

There just isn't really a rapier in GW. (also i wasn't implying ogre knife to be remotely like a rapier) |

I believe the Runic Blade http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Runic_Blade to be the CLOSEST thing to a Rapier in Guildwars, here are my reasons.
- Long Blade - Very thin - Hilt and Pommel closest thing resembling - Overall proportions, scale and overall thinness of the blade design Other swords do have thin long blades but always have something that jets out somewhere or doesnt fit the description in some way. Other then not having some form of guard over the hand or some metal work, I feel as its the closest. |

Jittes and Shinobi Blades are about as close as you can get. Runic blades look too big and heavy. |
