Paragon is one of the most useful classes in the game, people just dont play it because they don't understand it: A- don;t take the time to understand how the paragon's chant's and shouts synergise with their own parties skills and enhance them- ie pve players are usually mostly selfish and unimaginative and dont preplan well and B- don't have an immediate noticeable effect on the battle field. Im sure there are others, but all the anti-para rhetoric gets on my nerves. I play a paragon as a primary character in both pve (mostly) and pvp (sometimes), they can do a lot of things, from defense buffs to offense buffs to bip builds to pressure to tank the list is limited by your skill understanding -use the skills ANet gave you and stop copying the wiki people. |

I know this is really old thread, but have been messing about with a Paragon and would like to know, what the problem seems to be with them.
I have been very impressed and can't understand why Paragons are not wanted, the only reason I can think of to keep quiet about them is to avoid the Nerf bat. Aggressive Refrain + Go for the Eyes + find their Weakness, isn't bad and I haven't got an elite skill yet. I might be missing something but seems to be a very strong class to me. |

I would have to say to enjoy your close-mindedness then.
By calling the buffs subpar you demonstrate a lack of understanding of them and negate any further comments you have posted. |

Dervish = Great Damage output provided you spend time gathering elites (ebon dust aura, Avatar of Balthazar etc) but pretty much all of the armor is boring, the new armor from Eotn looks pretty sweet tho.
Paragon = Great support for playing with other humans, when playing with henchies/heroes there not so great as you have to charge in first when you should be in the abck buffing people. Dervish's (I find) can sometimes find it hard getting teams as warriors can do greater dammage, however Dervish's are fantastic for area dammage due to lots of there skills and the fact that there scythe will hit mroe than one enemy Choose depening on what you like and how you would like to play. |

I tried playing a Paragon, but got bored. So far, only Rangers got me interested enough to get to the higher levels.
They're absolutely insane when you have a good one in your team, though. Very, very good support and with a bit of common sense, a good tank too. I'm not sure about the Dervish, since I stay away from the melee classes. I hate being close to the enemy >.> |

Ive got a Dervish and I love it! Its a great class to go with, They can stay alive with a decent monk or 2 + the right build. They can really dominate in PvE or PvP .
Ive also made a Paragon and he at lvl 17 so far but am still working him out and so far its great! |
