Ranger/mesmer early factions build.
Hey i just started with factions, i am looking for a good PvE build with skills that you can get at the beginning island of factions, i want the build to be also useful when i go to the vast land of chanta, the big land so to speak.^^

I too would be interested in seeing a successfull build using those classes.
Its not one I would have considered apart from maybe using Fevered Dreams (E) to spread conditions. R/E - R/A - R/Rt - R/N All those work pretty well |

R/Me is quite fun if you use a lot of conditions and epidemic. I've used it quite effectively in all parts of the game. use things like Pindown, throw dirt, concussion shot (when you have high expertise, until you can get BHA), and apply poison.

Been giving this a little thought and have come up with a few possibilities.
If we work within the strengths of a ranger some of these could work quite well. Extra protection. You have very good armour especially against elemental damage, Mesmer has a set of skills "Mantras" that reduce specific elemental damage and give you energy, Ranger energy is quite low so high cost skills are a bad idea unless they are long lasting or give you energy back. Nearest place to get them in Factions is Kaining center so you would have to finish the start island before you can get them. More Damage Fragility you can get in Ran Mushu Gardens on the start island and would do extra damage each time the foe suffers or recovers from a condition. Interupts There are 2 spells and 1 signet that interupt a foes action they are all available on the factions start island. They will work well as part of an interupt ranger build and dont require any points in mesmer to function. There is a mesmer skill that prevents you being interupted so that could help in a trapping build but it costs energy each time it works leaving less to set the traps. Later on Epidemic could be a good choice to spread conditions either by Trap Pet attack or Bow. |

I started off as a R/Me. Mesmer secondary came in handy for [wiki]Hex Breaker[/wiki] - I was going for legendary survivor at the time. Hex Braker was a nice way of stopping Mesmer degen hexes and Mesmer/Elementalist snare hexes when I needed to kite.
