Forming alliances with other guilds
My guild has recently reached 30 members. We are a new guild of only two months and most of our members are EoN, with some NF and Factions members. We are now keen to form alliances with other guilds in order for our guild to grow. I have been told that as the leader I can only ally with other guilds if i have Factions and our guild is allied with Luxons or Kurzicks.
As such i have now purchased both Factions and Nightfall. This is great as my level 20 char can now travel between each of the 3 continents. But I dont think i can yet form alliances with other guilds. Someone from another guild told me that I would have to align my guild with Kurzick or Luxon alliance (factions), and I am happy to do this. Does this mean I have to travel to Aspenwood or wherever it is in Factions and compete a mission or something inorder to unlock the ability to create alliances? Is this all true what i have heard or am i heading down wrong path in order to grow the guild. All help much appreciated. |

To align with Kurzick travel to House Zu Helzer and for Luxon to Cavalon it costs about 500G I think.

Yes, it is true that you need to align your guild with either the Luxons or the Kurzicks in Factions before you can form alliances.
To align with the Kurzicks, talk to the Kurzick Ambassador in House zu Heltzer. Or, to align with the Luxons, talk to the Luxon Ambassador in Cavalon. Reaching either of these towns requires you to complete mission 8 (Sunjiang District) - not particularly difficult, but a little time consuming. Aligning with either side will only cost you 500 gold, and will also add two extra NPCs to your guild (one to give you access to alliance battles, and another to transfer faction). Only you as the guild leader has the ability to do this, and I would suggest talking through the choice of side with the rest of your guild before you align (it doesn't affect much in the long run and it can be changed, but getting opinions from your guildies will help you decide which side to go for). After that, alliance invitations are dealt with through the Guild panel, in a similar way that one would deal with guild invitations. Inviting another guild to your alliance will cost 1k per invite. Also note that when forming alliances, you can only ally with other guilds who have aligned with the same side as you. The wiki has more information about alliances, which you may find to be of use. The article can be found here. |

It would be nice if they would remove the requirement for the Kurzick/Luxon thing and just allow guilds to become "allies". My Guild joined an alliance simply to have more people to play with - alliance battles, etc., are not important to us at all - it seems almost pointless these days to have to do Factions stuff to become allied. Maybe they could add Balthazar as an allegiance.
