Keeping characters from trial to full? - Page 2 - Guild Wars Forums

Hence the question, what is the purpose of buying the retail version of the game vs. purchasing the access key through the GW site?

You get a box and manual. In most cases the retail version is also cheaper.

Well the box is pretty but besides using it for decorations that is no reason to purchase it. I know the manual is valuable. I find it very tedious reading FAQs and other instructions online. I bought the game at Target for about $30, which is the same price as it is through the GW site. I figure if I'm gonna buy it for that much, I might as well get the full box.
