Coming back to Guild Wars
Hello all,
Since I am home for my college break I have decided to come back to Guild wars. The last time I played was during the Factions release. I am wondering if the itemization has changed at all with the recent expansions. I am considering buying the expansions now but am not sure how my items, at one time perfect, are comparing to the items that have come out with the expansion. Is my old equipment now useless? Thanks for any info! |

Nope, gear from 31+ months ago is still awesome (If it had good stats to begin with) - But new items have become Inscribable, which is nifty. Go for it, buy the new expansions, nothing to lose.

Weapons have changed to use inscriptions (well, ones dropped in Nightfall, Eye of the North, and various chests throughout the games) so you can change the native mod (eg 15^50). Armour has been universally been changed to use insignia, so you can swap stats on your armour without buying a new set.

Is the new armor that now uses insignia comparable to the old 1.5k-1.5 mil armors? or is the new insignia armor a must-have? Also, downloading updates etc. to get the exact stats on my items.
I know I had at the time considered perfect horn bows and zodiac daggers. |

Now is a great time to come back. I was too busy to play myself, but during break I've been having an absolute blast.
Edit: @ the above post. Tons of games are a waste of time. Any single-player game is a waste of time, BF2 and Counter Strike online are wastes of time. If I plan on wasting my time, it will be on GW not one of those other games. |

So even with all the new changes, 15 above 50 +30 health 20/20 zodiac daggers still considered a perfect weapons?

The only main "problem" is those of us that felt some piece of armor's inherent and exclusive benefit outweighed it's looks generally went out and purchased what they thought looked best. Didn't make the old armor any less practical and my warrior is *really* happy he can now use the headset he always wanted to wear but couldn't really use the +1 strength of the headset he thought looked best. While that "problem" cost me 15k + materials it did make one happy warrior |

Guild Wars still has plenty to keep it going, especially for those who haven't played much of it. And considering you'll get some form of bonuses in the second game, for playing the first, I really see no reason not to. |
