Unlocked Items - Guild Wars Forums

Sorry if this has already been asked. I used an ID kit on some Char armor and got the message Item Unlocked for two items. The problem is I can't find the items. Where should they be? One seemed to be purple and the other green. Unfortunately I didn't catch what they were, I figured I would see them in my inventory.

That message means that the item has been unlocked for use in PvP. You can see it when you are creating pvp weapons and armor on your pvp character.

In addition to what was said above, the items that were "unlocked" could still be attached to some other item. For example, you could have identified a bow which came up as a Poisonous Longbow. You might get a message saying that a "poisonous bowstring" has been unlocked, but you wouldn't actually have a poisonous bowstring (by itself) until you expert salvaged it off the bow.

In addition to what the previous poster said, if you want the unlocked upgrades for use with your PvE character, you can use an expert (or superior) salvage kit on the charr armor you IDed. Of course, there's a chance you might break the armor when you salvage the first upgrade, but I quite often get all the upgrades and then am still able to salvage the armor from crafting materials (guess I tend to get lucky).
