Do I need to re-buy the game? LOST CD! - Guild Wars Forums

Here's the story:

I bought Guild Wars and Guild Wars Factions a while ago but I lost the CDs. I still, however, remember my account name and password.

I now want to play these two games again - along with the two expansions: Eye of the North and Prophecies. Do I need to buy ALL FOUR of them (including the two I lost), or can I just buy Eye of the North and Prophecies?

I have a hunch that I might not need to buy the two I lost - since I remember my account name and password. And I have a vague, foggy memory of installing just one game (probably Factions) on another computer and having access to my regular Guild Wars game online.

Can anyone who knows for sure either way please answer? It'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Even if you lost all 4 cds after using the codes to activate your account it doesnt matter, you can download the gw client for free at guildwars.com, so basicly all you need is the codes for the new campaign and expansion.

If you remember your account name and password, you do not need to buy the game again if you cannot find the CD.

You can download the game client from the official site and install the game that way (no discs required, although this method does take a bit longer than installing from CD). After that, you can use your account name and password to log into the game. Everybody uses the same basic game client, so it does not matter how the game is installed on your computer

After that, you can buy whichever other parts of the saga that you don't have and add their access keys to your account.

Actually you pay for a CD key, not for the CDs ^^

Fyi, the four games are Prophecies(original), Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North. Don't go out there buying another copy of Prophecies when you already have it(well, I suspect you do).

also....registering your games at on anets website will clear you for having bought them, so remember to do that in the future

just download the client online.

Make sure to use the -image command line switch, and leave the client running overnight. That'll download the full game for you automatically so you don't have to load every time you go to a new zone.
