An Ele definite has the best DPS, but that's only in short situations. Once that energy gets low you're useless. OP asked about 15 seconds, and I gotta go with the Ele on it. If you're beating something down in 15 seconds, though, odds are you could have whooped it with anything in the game. If you want any kind of sustained DPS that is, you know, actually useful, gotta go with Warrior or Assassin. Assassin will win in DPS, but the Warrior will spend far fewer skill slots to pump out the impressive numbers.
That's all generic, though. I can think of dozens of builds that outdo a War or Sin, but only in certain situations. |

I have no GW atm, on holiday, but an assassin can do this.
With the skills: [skill]Unsuspecting Strike[/skill][skill]Golden Fang Strike[/skill][skill]Death Blossom[/skill][skill]Moebius Strike[/skill][skill]Critical Eye[/skill][skill]Critical Agility[/skill][skill]Judge's Insight[/skill][skill]"I Am The Strongest!"[/skill] Critical Strikes : 16 Dagger Mastery : 12 Smiting Prayers : 3 Norn rank : 10 Customised Daggers 7-17 15^50 20/20: with all the skills and chances included = 33-62 damage on each attack Unsuspecting Strike: 111 damage + 33-62 Golden Fang Strike: DW for 15 seconds, 120 health lost from 600hp master of damage 120 + 33-62 Death Blossom: 80 damage + 2(33-62) Moebius Strike: 60 damage + 2(33-62) Making a total 198-372 + 371 damage, meaning 569-743 damage for the time of 4 attacks, which were speeded up 33%. Finally, this attack chain with these buffs makes 569-743 damage over an approximate 3 seconds. Correct me if I went into a delirium. If anyone can try to do this on his/her assassin with these stats, will be obvious who is the best DPS dealer. |

If your talking under 10 seconds then yes the sin is the king of DPS, however if your talking over 180 seconds then the warrior is the absolute KING of DPS.
Yes, an elementalist can achieve an extremely high amount of DPS, but that is using skills that the AI is programed to walk out of. Sure if the AI was willing to stand in FireStorm and Lava Font then the Ele would be king, but they dont so its not. |

He is using a fire spell on a low level mob that is vulnerable to fire. try using your axe warrior against undead whilst dealing holy damage. Sainsbury's taste the difference |

This is a pretty pointless thread, its well known that warriors have the highest dps. End of discussion.

Off topic
I know this is off-topic slightly but in a PVE setting Pain Inverter can push out a high amount of damage in one second. 10 minions + shockwave boss (casting shockwave) + Pain Inverter == dead shockwave boss. 80 damage * 3 (all minions against the boss) * 10 == 2400 damage.
Saw it happen. |
