Is guild wars still going strong?
Hi, i'm looking for a new more relaxed online rpg. I played a crap load of wow over the past two years, and am tired of the time required for that game. I'm thinking of picking up guild wars, but with GW2 coming out, I'm not to sure how strong the community still is. Do many people still play GW competitively and as a whole, or is the game starting to die? Any response is great

There are a trillion threads about the death of GW in Riverside...but seeing the number of people in major towns makes me think no...
Look for an active guild that does what you like to do, and you'll be fine. Heck, with GW: Nightfall...you hardly need people. Heroes and Hench for most quests and missions. Whether this is good or bad...that's another opinion entirely. |

Well, i you want it as strong as WoW, sry but ur outta luck, we don't have that many ppl, if even like 1/10 of that XD... there are places that are very empty and some of the missions are hard to do now because of the emptyness. Yes its fun, but we are declining IMO. If you find an active guild ur good liek a guy said.

yet another thread......
yes guild wars is still going strong, gw2 is not even in beta yet so we have plenty of time to get chapters completed, 15k armor for our HoM and kill every Charr we see..... So yes, we still are going quite strong, maybe more are just hero/hench-ing it but we are still playing. |

i would just like to add that just because gw2 is coming out in the future, and even when gw2 is out, gw1 will still be here. anet won't just shut down gw1, that would piss off ALOT of players.
gw1 will be around for the next 8-10 years easy. |

you know it's still going strong when the halloween festival pulls out 100 districts, plus, per city.
heck, i'll keep playing it as long as they keep updating it. got into it late anyways, (past year) and still love it. |
