Spider Cap Underworld...Is It A Good Earner? - Guild Wars Forums

Me and my pal do alot of UW duo and decided to try out the spider cap n see if we could do it with just 2 of us trapping all the way. Now we figured out a way to do so and its tried, tested and successful and the run would take approx 30 mins, but we would suggest the "Customer" to go afk for that 30 mins while we cleared the path for them.

Now i notice people pay a fair amount for the spider pets 15 - 25k for the run to them.

But my question is:

From you knowledge is it a popular run and do many people tend to want it done for them?, would you say 20k on average and all the drops we should receive along the way (Me and my partner split all the ectos, and final payment from the "Customer") is a good and reasonably fast way to earn cash on Guild Wars?.

Opinions would be helpful thanks

yes...cept lately ive seen them around 10-15k but when i did them me and my friend charged 25k+we get ectos+they pay entrance. After they leave you can go farm the smites and have chance of getting ecto. So id say even at 15k its still worth it and once ur good at it will take bout 20 mins rather then 30. Btw rather then him go afk.....have him stand behind the statue(up on the stairs) at the grenth statue. So you don't have to run back and take the quest restoring the monuments he can take it. This allows you to clear grasping and colds(if you so desire) without the terrorwebs killing your "townsfolk" the ghosts you need to survive for the quest. Hope that helped. O and id be happy to show you(if my friend is on cause i can't 55 this part) You can actually take 2 rangers and have one follow you to the smite crawlers and do the quest there(i forget name i think its like protect the ice king) and get 2 spiders at a time. What you have to do is cast ps then wait while 2 spawns of terrorwebs appear. Then cast sb and keep dodging meteor shower. Like 4-6 grps of terrorwebs spawn. They r pretty simple just keep grping them up(and how they spawn pretty much grps them anyway) while ur ss runs down after he takes quest and just ss's them and defiles they drop uber quik. Srry for ranting....over all id say yes spider runs r still worth it. Just don't stand in town for hours if u cant find customer in 10-15 mins(or however long u feel like waiting) go in to uw do a regular farm come back out and see if any1 needing one yet has come. Also tell ur customers to suggest them to there friends. I am still getting pms asking for spider runs and me and my friend quit doing them about 3 months ago. T_T we maxed accounts in gold. Sadly i am poor again. Fow armor and chaos gloves and perfect weps do that to ya

Even when everything has been negotiated and agreed, everything is done and spider captured there are people who refuse to pay. Happened to me 2 days ago.

Thit is so frustrating that I dont run people anywhere for money anymore

Thanks tht overall seems to be a big help. We found a pretty good way of preserving one town spirit, all we do is aggro the first group of grasping to a safe location (my buddy does this) and then let them kill him, now we did it so if he gets em in just the right place and he seems to be able to do it well, i can then use rebirth on him and bring him to my location without aggroing them thus clearing the path for us and stopping at least one of the spirits from getting released giving us an unlimited timer to complete "Restoring Monuments"

Back in my UW farming days my friend and I occasionally did a spider run if someone was spamming for one. We'd take the ranger to the spider spawn and request the agreed sum of money. A couple of times they refused to pay so we just killed the spider as he was charming it and put up with a load of abuse. It was quite funny to see them pissed off but they deserved it.

Then we had people who capped their spider (or not, as it sometimes happened) and stuck around to leech drops from the Smite run. I'd then lure a mob to the ranger and have him killed and then we'd recieve more abuse.

Even though it was a good laugh watching the ranger rage at us, it wasn't worth the bother and the uncertainty of stranger rangers.

It's decent money in the ideal world where the Rangers do adhere to the rules they agreed to.

Funny enough that the guy who refused to pay was a necro. Probably he needed the spider for statue HoM (you get a unique one for spiders there)

For all those looking for money - I've made more then 2 million in two weeks running people in CoF (big competition there nowadays made it less profitable though)

A friend and I still do this everyonce and a while used to do it alot back in the day.
Yes it will bring in very good money.
15-20k is a good charge for it.
you should get 3 spiders on the normal run you can get another with the dual build but it requires the person who wants the spider to do some fancy running as well as the both of you running as well.

establish your rules from the start tell them no stealing drops even if it is a ecto, do not move from the spots you draw on the map for them and no afk most people who go afk during this will not come back at the right time and you could waste time doing it this way.

The one thing you will have to do is if someone breaks the rules you have up do not let it slide just leave them in the UW and get another couple of people.

with 3 people plus you and your friend farming you get 60k+ecto drops and other drops every run and if your crazy and your friend is to and the runner has to be just as crazy you can get 80k+ecto drops.

I am not sure if you are doing 1 spider run in 30 mins or ? and if you would like to know how to do 3-4 spider runs every hour or less when you get it memorized Pm me on here.
