back to gw after years
I purchased GW when it first came out and quickly got up to 20 and to... some volcanic islands somewhere is where I think I left off.
Anyways, I'm downloading GW now because I miss gaming and want to finish off the story. Should I purchase factions after this and then nightfall or just go straight to eye of the north? Or does the order matter at all? As far as the story goes? thanks Last edited by razuel; Jan 13, 2008 at 08:37 PM // 20:37.. |

I recommend getting all the games and playing through them once, theres enough content for at least a few hundred hours entertainment. |

Asking a large community like gwguru is not likely to be productive, as you will get every possible combination of recommendations. Finish Prophecies, make some new friends in-game, then ask them what they did. There are no wrong answers, unless you want to PvP.

You can buy whatever you want, whenever you want.
Story-wise it's prophecies ==> factions ==> nightfall ==> EotN, but that's only if you want to follow the story. NF and EotN give you heroes, and factions only give you alliance battle, |

AS far as story goes, you should play NF after both prohecies and factions. Other than that, its up to you.
I would finish prohecies first (then do some Sorrows Furnance or so) and decide what to purchase after that. |

You should go pvp, but before you do ask yourself this question.

Totally not a carebear any more. I'll go to factions next then-- I'd like to follow the story, but knowing me I'll get addicted and become carebear.
thanks guys |

Depends how serious you are man. If you really wanna get back into GW, I would recommend getting NF>FACTIONS>EOTN. How can u play this game without all the skills each campaign offers or the character specific games that introduce, dervs, paras, sins, and rits. Like I said it all depends on how serious you are. If I had to chose one game after Proph it would be NF Cuz of heroes, dervs, paras, and skills.

Is it wise to skip along though? I'm starting off with no friends, so without continuous co-op play I'll probably get bored if I don't become interested in the story. Then again, I'm sure I'll make friends along the way. I must say, coming from Diablo and CS, the community here is much more friendly than expected |

Get NightFall or Eotn 1st for some heroes and there aren't much people in factions, midway into the game theres about 10 people max in the mission outposts

AND I've got my 2nd birthday present, that's great. It's a miniature juggernaut-- is that any good? Still have 1 or 2 more presents I get to open too probably. Oh, and I'll go to NF next, nothing I hate more than not having people to play with. |

If you're only going to get 1 expansion get nightfall. Heros are pretty much changed the game forever and made it possible to easily roll through games as a single player instead of being forced to look for PUGs.
Of course if you're willing to spend more then get everything. It'll be a lot of fun and you'll have full access to all the skills. Its still probably in your interest to get through nightfall first and then go back to factions with a full compliment of heros. |
