Tanks are so baaaaed.
I wish the AI would learn that if a single high AL or heavily protted target was the only thing within aggro range, that it should run past that target and go for all the sexy squishies that are undoubtedly half an aggro bubble behind it. plz anet plz i rly need

Perhaps I'm missing something, but what is wrong with tanking? If all mobs are attacking just one or two guys up front (or a minion wall), the prot monk has a much easier time, and aoe skills (splinter barrage, sf, sh, ms, ancestors rage, cry of pain, aoe snares, etc) are far more effective. On the other hand, if agro is spread through the party, everyone will be taking damage and getting interrupted, heroes and squishies will be too busy kiting to do damage and you have a recipe for a wipe. In the majority of guildwars this isn't an issue since its pretty easy, and careful agro control will only slow you down. But in a difficult place like slavers, I can't see why maintaining agro on select players is a bad thing.
I acknowledge there are many strategies for destroying monsters, but why all the tanking hate? |

There is no need for a tank, otherwise I would not explain myself how I did manage to do Thommis, Selvetarm and the other guy (not forgewright, neede real team there ) and Duncan himself just by hero/henching. And no, I was not using ursan -.-

Yeah, tanks are not NEEDED, they're just one way of skinning the Slaver's cat. A pretty slow way in my opinion. I just romped it with H/H and no consumables

On the other hand, when tankway looses aggro, exact thing you described happens - except, squishies have no idea how to kite as a) they either stand there and cast and die or b) run around randomly withot casting anything and transfer aggro to a) group squishies. Monks used to focus on healing one person are unable to prioritize heals and prots. And in adition to all that you have one completelly useless party member out there. |

So what was your teamset with hero and henchies?
My only problem at Slavers are the interrupts and the sandstorm (wich henchman seem to like to stay in the middle and attack, even beeing a monk) |

2. It's a heck of a lot less action-packed than balanced, which tends to make things boring and repetitive (also known as "grindy"). 3. If the tank loses aggro, everyone else is ****ed. The team builds aren't set up to deal with party-wide pressure properly. 4. Warriors were made to deal damage.

the summits from duncan are the best foes you will find, they have MM, Rezmers, good monks with interupts, barrage rangers everyfoe have double class...
They are very hard to kill without consumables, ursan or a tank strategy |

Post your H/H Team build, I'm curious to see what team builds are faster than Ob Flesh Tank, 3 SH Ele's, Rit/Ranger Splinter Barrager FS, SS/SoS/Swap Necro, Bonder/PS Monk and Healer Monk.
If everyone party member knows his/her job, all areas of Slaver's Exile goes pretty quick. |
