Ok, i was super psyched this morning when a req 9 gold ele sword dropped for me when I was farming out in the raptor cave just outside of rata sum. But then I ID'ed the thing and it had no inscription, and no inherent weapon bonus, and wouldn't let me put an inscription on it. I was under the impression that the all gold weapons that dropped in GW:EN were inscribable. Has anyone else had something like this happen to them?

Yes, this does happen from time to time not only in GWEN but in Nighfall where you get an item without an inscription slot. However, these are usually low-level (in both rarity and stats) items and I am pretty sure I have never personally seen a gold drop w/o a slot. But yes, I am almost positive that this is possible and sorry for your bad luck (its not like elementals are worth that much anymore, anyway

I've had a few NF/Gwen golds drop without an inscription slot. It happens. If figure its just similar when you get a Tyrian/Canthan gold weapon without a damage mod (like a gold bow, but the only mod on it is a Shocking String or something).
