Blinded by the Light
Excuse the Manfred Man reference :P
http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...er-1/gw200.jpg Dunno which area this would go in, Tech Help, Q & A or Bug Submit, so move as appropriate. Why the hell is my entire game screen white? I played the mission again, and the screen was a sort of unbearable, but seeable whiteness which I didn't screeny. Not sure what exactly you'd want in terms of tech specs, but I found these # Intel Centrino Core Duo Processor T2300 1.66GHz # 512MB DDRII SDRAM - Low cost double memory offer ??? call for details! # 60GB Hard Drive # 15.4" XGA Widescreen TFT Screen with CrystalBrite # Intel 945GM shared graphics That's the first time its ever happened in any zone, 7 months through playing, and I can't get on GW to test if it's still happening. Halp please though, I want to Master Gate of Madness, finally |

Nooo...it's cos you're using texmod. When this happens just minimize your game then tab out, tab back in and should be fixed. Do this if graphics similar to this happen, like you get the map super-imposed over your screen.
All solved Btw you didn't need to restart mission |

Yeah, texmod is buggy and leaves all sorts of data in the displayport, which leads to all sorts of weird graphics anomalies. Zoning (and perhaps minimizing like Berek suggests, haven't tried that) clears it up. Mostly. There'll still be the occasional missing or wrong texture.

Written by Springsteen, don't 'cha know? Apparently the only #1 song he's ever written, but his version was a flop.

Age doesn't automatically categorise your music tastes. Anyway, thanks guys, I think, although Alt-Tabbing kills my GW as well >.< I get the little [Guild Wars] tag up the top left when I reenter it, but it just sits there, never actually bringing back the game image. That occurs when not running TexMod and when I do, so I can't win |

Sigh - anyway, the 512MB memory is killing you. The shared graphics is killing you. Proc is ok-ish, but I'm not surprised that alt-tabbing is making it fall down. It being a laptop means that there's not a whole heap you can do about it either. More memory might help, I guess. I hope to hell it's not trying to run Vista...

Good grief - how can a company have the balls to sell a computer with an OS that it just can't run properly?
Don't know where you live, but in Britain I'd send it right back under the terms of the Sale of Goods Act - goods unfit for the intended use. Bloody thieves

Vista is buggy as hell, but I've never had any major problems (how often do you really need to tab out of GW?) It was Comet, btw. (Gaaagh, bad internet recently.) |

Comet - eww, box shifters.
I'm surprised Vista works at all - 1GB minimum, 2GB preferred. I'd guess it must either be the basic version or home premium with Aero switched off. In answer to one of your original questions (heh, got off topic again) this thread should have been in Tech Corner (probably) or in the bug section (possibly) but I would go with the techs. They know their stuff. And their stfu, come to that. Next PC you buy, avoid the high street and go online - you'll find cheaper prices and be able to pick the specs you need.
