Across the Wall quest
I don't understand being grouped with someone. I just did the Across the Wall quest. I found someone to help me with this. I said I would open the gate for him if he opened it for me afterwards. I know now I could have just done the quest with him, but I wanted to figure it out on my own. So I opened the gate and he went through. So I'm on the north side of the wall watching him run north. I figured I was done here and I'll wait for him on the south side and then he can open the gate for me. So I went back to the south side and he was there asking "why did you do that?" LOL. So we started over. I asked him if I had to wait for him and he said no which doesn't make sense because when I went back to the south side he was there. So I waited even though he said I didn't have to. He then logged out without completing the quest.
So I found someone else to hold the door open and I went through. I asked her if she had to wait for me and she said no, but that doesn't seem to be true. I brought what's-his-name back to the gate and she was gone. Did she log out? I'm guessing she logged out and back in, because if she had gone back to the south side, I would have wound up there too, right? Is that right or am I missing something? |

To go "across the wall" whether to do the quest or to "hunt charr", it takes 2 to gain entry. You both could complete the quest together or charr hunt together, or one of you open your map, M key by default, and double click any town and leave the other person to solo.

When one of you goes through a portal, both of you do.
The first guy left because you dragged him back south of the wall for no reason. |

There was no need for that, everyone goes through a portal if one member of the part does (teamwork and how zoning in a group works is the point of the mission). For this quest one member opens it, the other goes through it, then both members go on and save the person in the quest. Once that is done *both* people have completed the quest, no need to go outside the gate and do it for you. When you rezoned you just reset the whole quest counter for *everyone* in your group. As such, when you zoned back out and wanted him to move *you* through the gate also it showed you didn't know anything that was going on. Some of us are OK with newbies - especially in newbie areas - others aren't. Were I someone who was just wanting to complete it and go I would have done the same thing, but then I don't mind if someone goofs up, especially in newbie area's. |

What the second person did was just map back to Ascalon (probably) as you can't map a party from an explorable to a town. It's the usual way gate openers do it.
