Hero skill point/trainer question
I'm relatively new to NF and EotN, and after reading the official wiki's hero skill point page, I have a question.
Once a character has earned and exhausted every "free" hero skill point possible, what is the usefulness of hero skill trainers? When you can no longer earn hero skill points, you can obtain them for 1 plat + 1 reg skill point. What's the purpose of this, when I can purchase skills at regular trainers for the same price? My impression is once the "free" hero skill points are gone, hero skill trainers are essentially no better/different than regular trainers. Am I missing something? Keep in mind I'm only 50% through NF and just recently started EotN. |

What is your question? Or is this a rant?
Hero skill trainers have no use other that unlocking skills via hero skill points. They are there for that purpose. Any skill unlocked on your account is available to your heroes. |

Hero skill points
You get additional hero skill points when u lrank up on titles eg. sunspear and lightbringer. So you can get more when u have exhausted them. In addition, you get more hero points as they gain experience, just as you do. This is particularly useful when levelling up heros, ie. do the quests with your high level heros and swap out to your low level heros to get the experience reward - and added of levelling them up without getting u killed in the process!

If you've used all your possible hero skill points, then the only possible use I can see for converting a normal skill point would be if the hero skill trainer had something not available at the regular skill trainers so far.
I haven't studied the offerings of hero skill trainers in comparison to the regular skill trainers to know if that happens. @Candy - wow, you get more hero skill points from your heroes leveling up? I never noticed that. Thought it was just from ss/lb/rep titles going up a level. |

Also, the hero skill trainers in Nightfall offer Sunspear skills that you can only get through a hero skill point.

@Luny - yes, I would think this would be about the only purpose, if it is in fact true. I've not played this game long enough to be able to conduct such research.
The main reason I'm asking this question is because I want to ensure I'm not overlooking some unobvious use of hero skill trainers once my 'free' points are gone. |

I don't think there's anything more to them. Besides the previously mentioned pve-only skills that you can only get from hero skill guys, not regular skill guys.
IIRC, the option to pay a hero trainer 1k and 1 skill point for a hero point arrived when the sunspear pve-only skills arrived. Perhaps they added the option with him for folks that had already maxed their SS/LB titles and wanted the new sunspear skills. |
