Bankur Harbor
I can't get past this mission in Nightfall.
Currently Lvl18 Ele/necro I've tried with my Heros & Henchmen & twice with a human w/o success. I don't have any other missions left and get hardly any experience points killing stuff not mission related. Do I have to make it past here to get to level 20 or should I be a 20 to get past this mission? Note > Playing about 1-2 weeks probably not a very good player at the moment TBH. |

I cant exactly remember what you need to do in that mission, however always do careful pulling (shoot one group with a bow and run back to your group and let them chase you, also switch back to your regular weapon) and most of the game is pretty manageable. Kill one group at a time and try to avoid several mobs at the same time. Also watch out for patrols that may start attacking you when your are in mid fight.
Also make sure you make use of flagging your heros and henches. And dont be afraid to turn tail and run if your team starts getting overwhelmed. Once you are out of distance, the bad guys will return to their location, and just come back and resurrect your party and kill the rest off. |

I think you're talking about Assault on Beknur Harbor? It's a tough quest indeed. However, you don't need to do this to move along in the game. How many Sunspear points do you have? My memory on this is fuzzy [Edit: I just checked wiki], but if you've got 500 then you can do "The Time is Nigh"/War Preparations series of quests which will get you to the Consulate Docks mission.
And then you'll be off of noob island in no time. Good luck! Last edited by Father of The Son of God; Feb 07, 2008 at 07:10 PM // 19:10.. |

Thanks for the replies.
Still no luck. As an Elem should I be using a weapon that deals Lightning or Fire damage? I switched to the lightning and made it through the first 5 waves yesterday. Father of . . . Thanks, I'll check. I'm thinking I already did that mission though. I know I did win a fight at the docks, I'll check when I get home. NOTE: I'm trying to figure out how to play mostly on my own, not using any custom builds etc. Do you think I should look for a custom Nightfall build & use it? Would it make a big difference? Assault on Beknur Harbor is a rather difficult mission. I didn't do it until I was level 20 and did it with a friend (also level 20) and level 20 heroes. You should consider skipping it for now.
This is the mission progression for nightfall: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Mission...28Nightfall%29 You should be able to see where you left off in that sequence. Check that out and see where you are. Look at your quest log and see if you have any primary quests, if not, see which mission you did last and go to the town after, looking for quest-givers. As far as looking for builds... you will end up a better player (generally speaking) if you get to know the game and skills yourself, as opposed to just using some build someone else came up with. That said, if you use the builds given on various sites (this one included) just as guides, it can give you a sound starting point. Good luck! And feel free to message me in-game (name to the left). I can answer any more questions and help with that quest you're having problems with once you're ready (I still suggest getting to level 20 though). |

I single MM can make all the difference in this quest, 2 make this easy and add in a Rit for total domination.

I'm such a noob, I missed a whole character. The scholar. . . . Off I go. I'm saving Harbor until I level up. |

I know the quest now that you are talking about, yea it is hard for a sub lvl 20 without elites. Crom is right, MM helps a lot, also maybe think of taking a warder earth ele like Huerta (is Huerta available there?), or if you do a ward ele yourself, bring Earthquake that also blinds a group (or was that Eruption??) If you like air (lightning) ele skills, maybe blurred vision if its available. If you run fire ele, bring massive AOE damage spells or maybe a water ele with AOE (area of effect) slow hexes that slows groups of bad guys.
Overall, MM is a must for this. And one more tip, fight just inside the gates, dont go outside. If you stay in the gates, the bad guys bunch up and you can nuke them and there are NPCs that can absorb some damage and supply bodies. Outside, they come from several angles and will get backdoored. If the heros and henchmen are wandering a bit too far outside, flag them all back. Also if you can bring res sigs, not rebirth. Since waves come fast you need to get your guys up fast and rebirth will drain the hench and wont be able to fight in the next wave. |

Once again, thanks, you guys are great.
Once I found the scholar I found another 3-4 missions I never had. (this is my first char past lvel11). Wirt I see what you mean about the gates. I still have 1-2 quests before I have to worry about going back to the harbor. By then I'll be a Lvl20 and have a rhtythm to the bar I'm using. Appreciate the suggestions. |
