Account Banned.
Hey guys, I was wondering if you could shed some light on my situation (sorry if this is not the right forum). Last weekend during the Canthan New year event, my account got stolen. I sent a support ticket to Anet on Saturday and I got my account back on Sunday. All of my dyes were gone and all of my gold, but my characters were all ok.
So I changed my password, and decided to play as normal. After the event on Monday, I logged in to find my account banned with this message: "Your account has been banned from Guild Wars for a breach of the User Agreement and/or Rules of Conduct. This ban is permanent. (Code=045)". Now I believe if I did anything truly wrong I would have got a 24 hour ban or something, but since I did nothing wrong, I am only curious. What could be so harsh that Anet had to ban my account with no warning permanently? Could the person who stole my account have botted or something? I sent Anet another support ticket, and they told me to send them my account name and the names of all of my characters, but still no reply. Do you think my account could possibly be unbanned, or is there no chance? I'm not really sure how the person got my password, but now I'm out over 100 bucks...(Guild Wars, Factions, Eye of the North, Bonus mission pack, skill unlock packs, ect) Edit: Also when I tried to sign up for this form, it said my email was banned (the one I used for guild wars). How/Why? Last edited by BackStabber; Feb 13, 2008 at 08:31 AM // 08:31.. |

They'll look into it, but no one here can help you about the ban. Its likely that if you REALLY didnt do anything wrong, then it was the person who stole the account, and they should be able to see that.
Good luck getting your account back. |

Send them the info they ask for and keep reminding them that they helped you get your account back after it was stolen.
The guy who stole it probably did something ban-worthy with it and report that it was stolen was probably overlooked when they put on the ban. Just keep after them (politely) and you should be ok. I would check to make sure you don't have a keylogger or virus of some kind on your system too. |

Good luck getting the account back,
and in regards to the email, I would assume your email was @hotmail.com which guru has banned if you look at the announcement on the top of the forums |

What ever you do, don't let your support ticket close. If you go more than 72 hours without either you or them responding it gets auto-closed. Just log in and ask for an update everyday to be safe.
Be persistent, and stick to the facts. Don't insult them either. Explain the situation and keep hammering. Edit: It seems that Anet is really targeting "botters" pretty well lately. I realize there is a huge quantity of them around, but if they keep the ban stick waving, I am happy. I just think they have a hard time keeping up with how fast they come back into play. I would like to know who would actually spend 4 times the price of the game to have a million gold? Seems like way to much risk for me. Last edited by pkodyssey; Feb 13, 2008 at 12:46 PM // 12:46.. |

Be sure you have all of your access keys. The same thing happened to me and it took em awhile but in the end i gave them all the access keys on the account and they unbanned me.
