well, over a week has passed.
im not a fan of necroposting, but this is something i need to say i am unable to even question the ban because i dont remember any of my access keys (never thought to write them down..) and i need them before they will consider me the owner of my account. i cant repeal the ban, and they wont even tell me why. my own hunch is that they thought i was multiplaying on the same account because i logged in both china and taiwan after i went home for new years. i'm a little bitter now, after jumping a week's worth of hoops from their GM's/reps and hitting a brick wall. It's not like Gaile's going to magically come save someone who got randomly permabanned, so it's probably the end of the line for me here. I guess there wasn't too much to regret, but there were some items i would have liked to pass to my proteges ive met in my time. There you have it, a 2-year vet bites the bullet without knowing what hit him. For those who think that these words are fake tears, give me a rational explanation of being absent from guild wars before the start of new years, and banned upon return because he tried to login from another country without any activity other than that. I'll gladly accept it. *EDIT* forgot to add this: Moral of the story: have a copy of your access keys somewhere, or you're going to regret it someday. I wouldn't give up and explain that you don't have the keys. Wish I could be more helpful. Just explain the situation a hundred times. DON'T let the ticket close, make them respond.

Did you lose the boxes with the acces keys? Or whatever you got them on.
Anyway I agree with odyssey: Keep trying. |

the thing is that support is basically refusing to tell me why im banned, but needs something to prove ownership of my account and they wont take anything but a key that i cant provide..im at a loss |

This is probably a dumb question, but why do people get banned? Do they give you a warning of some kind first? Is it bad behavior or messing around with accounts? Just curious.

I'm not sure as to why you got banned but maybe it came from the mallyx exploit? they could still be checking logs and banning for it? that's the last thing I heard as far as mass banning goes so maybe you got mixed in there? |

If you did nothing wrong, then you shouldn't have to worry about it. Anet has made mistaks before.

from what you describe, it sounds like the reason they won't take anything except the cd keys is because you accessed gw from two different regions (china and taiwan).
If you're not ticketing anet with the email that the account was under, i suggest you do so, and use that as your leverage to show ownership of the account. I also believe that describing any items, chars, armor, etc... on the account in question would be helpful Goodluck, and I feel your pain |
