I'm not whinning or anything, but whats the fascination with leveling up as soon as possible? Aren't you just cutting down the game's lifespan? What makes you want to do that?
Whats the meaning of existance? Where are my missing socks? |

I can't believe that people want to rush through so fast. Just using the missions to level you up and then moving onto the next town? I've never seen such a varied range of quest types, can't believe people want to miss out on the storyline behind them. I bet these people even skip the cut scenes. What's the facination anyway. Surely once you've completed everything, bought a guild hall blah blah blah.. you have to go spend 50 quid on a new MMORPG. It's such a shame because the people who made this game put so much effort into it that people just wanna bypass.
I love cruising through having fun, chatting with people, meeting people. Having hilarious conversations in chat. Hell, sometimes I spend 3 hours just sitting in a town like Lion's, laughing and making jokes with people. I do most of my quests with the henchmen rather than finding groups of ignorant little bastard's who want to play hero and scream GOGOGOGOGOGOGO!!!!! at me all the time cos they want to level. I've made some decent friends and I like selling things I've found to lower levels to improve their game experience. I've played for 190 hours, I've died 127 times (including PvP in arena's) and I'm about halfway through level 19. I just completer Riverside Province so I'll get to 20 before I get to the Desert. I've done most of the quests I've found and tried to open up as much of the map as possible. This is what makes the game fullfilling for me. Other's may just want to "Be the best, the fastest" which is fine.. but I'm finding a lot of level 20's now think they're god in some way. Calling weapons I own "Crap" or offering me money cos I never have more than 4K on me. I'm like.. "ffs, YOU were lvel 14 once, YOU weilded a blue dmg 9-14 sword once (not that I use once like that now :P ), and YOU were poor once!" Does my head in when people call me a noob too. I don't know, maybe I'm bitter.. but I'm starting to get sick of lvl 12 W/Mo's standing there in Lion's Arch yelling "WTB FIRY DRGOPN SWORD!!! MUST HAVE MX DGM 15-22!! ANSD LOTS OF EXTRS!!!" *_* (P.s. the typos were on purpose) |

The game starts at 20 for some. Some see the journey to 20 as their game. Neat thing about these games is that there are different goals and playstyles permitted.
5 hours to level 20, sure... but now comes the aquisition of skills and gear. You have to go back and quest for those, or else you'll run out of skill points. So he's got a level 20 doing quests designed for a level 5. That's got to be exciting. |

Also keep in mind that being able to do something in 40 hours means, to some people, that you *can* do it in two days of hard playing. Given that some people average ~10 hours a day (yes, they actually do) then a hard day of gaming is going to be well within 20 hours. In fact, to *average* ten+ hours a day a normal day of gaming will very well be within that amount.
I didn't rush at all but was at Abbadon's mouth within under two weeks after release and I found MANY people who had already done the mission enough times to know all the in's and out's. I averaged about 3-5 hours a day then, from the above standards barely even a "medium" level player. Since release I average between 1-1.5 hours a day so don't even rate anything other than "Casual" to those players. [edit] Oh well, just like rarely paying attention to who posted I rarely check the date. So, mostly disregard the above. |

Probably the fastest way to get to lvl 20 is doing Kilroys Dungeon (if youve got Eye of the North). Just get 2 lvl 10 and LA and u can go to GW:EN, keep on doing the mission and you've set
