Protection bugged?
I am posting hoping that I am just doing something wrong. I have Tahlkora as a Monk/Mes. The problem is that only one of her protection enchantments works. Protective Bond and a couple other ones aren't working. The spell is cast and it pops up temporarily in the condition bar but then is cancelled right away somehow. Can anyone help me out please?

You want maintained enchantments, right? Yeah, heroes will cancel it right away unless you DISABLE it. CTRL-click the skill so it gets a red disabled mark on it, target the guy you want enchanted, and left click the skill. The hero will now cast and maintain it.
(The disabling doesn't in fact disable the skill, it disables the heros control of it - you have to cast (and remove) disabled skills yourself, which is exactly what you want here.) |

All Enchantments that have to be maintained are immediately canceld after being cast. Just open the hero panel and disable that skill and then cast in manually.

Heroes are bad at casting maintained enchantments. To fix this, disable their skill by holding shift and clicking on it. Then click on it without holding shift to force them to cast the spell. As long as you leave the skill disabled, they will maintain the enchantment. Note that they won't recast it if it's stripped since you've disabled the skill.
EDIT: beat to the punch |

I'm not up to recent builds, but isn't protective bond useless due to too much energy loss?

Protective bond is pretty much useless for farming, yeah. I imagine it might still have uses in normal play (though I don't use it).

The heroes do this because the AI is designed to try to be careful about energy management. Why the spam protective spirit on degen damage though, is beyond me. |
