Question Elementalist as Mountain Runner?

I used to play GW about a year ago, as a warrior. I always loved running and solo-fighting in the mountains!

Anyways, now that I've started again (with a new account), I chose Elementalist to try something new. I have 2 questions:

1) Is it possible to use an Elementalist to do runs I.E. From Beacon's perch to Droknar's Forge AND are Elementalists good for solo-fighting in the mountains? Or are they just too weak due to the small HP and terrible melee armor?

2) Which profession is the best for running/solo-fighting, apart from warrior? Ranger...?

Thank you!

There are many areas of the "mountains". I assume you mean the shiverpeaks, in which case you should specify far, north, or south for farming(soloing). Droks running should in theory be possible as an ele, but I've never tried.

Shiverpeaks, yes. I don't like to call it farming, as I'm not doing it to get items/gold, just for the fun (challenge) of it!

You're correct of course, there are many areas, but I guess what I'm asking is if Ele's can hold up on their own under such harsh conditions (lots of high level mobs). And the Droks run in particular interests me...I've never heard of an Ele doing it.

I can't give you the build needed for the droks run, because a businessman never gives away his secrets, but I will tell you 'yes' an Ele runner from beacons to droks is entirely possible...

As for solo'ing, you'll need to be more specific as to the 'area' of the mountains you wish to fight in. Never underestimate the Elementalist in terms of 'weak armor' and 'smaller HP'. They are more than capable of tanking, destroying large groups, and running. I've found the Ele to be the most diverse character in the game. Anyone who say's that Ele's suck, just doesn't know how to use one properly.

Okay thank you, your answer is much appreciated. Knowing that its possible is all I wanted, just so I'm not wasting my time getting this bub to level 20.
