When will I have access to a new armor set?
I am playing an El/Mo in Prophecies, and was wondering when I will have a chance for an armor upgrade. I have had the same set, Flameforged 30 armor set, since having it crafted in Post-Searing Ascalon. I am level 13 and have made it over to Yak's Bend, but there is still no higher armor set available. Does anyone know when I will be able to upgrade?
The reason that I ask is that I will add some buffs to my armor now if I will be wearing it for awhile. Thanks for the help. |

Nearest upgrade is, I think, Beetletun (Lion's Arch carries the same AL as Yak's), unless you get a run to Droknar's Forge (known as Drok's) for a couple of plat, to get AL 60.
That's off the top of my head without checking the Wiki though. Beetletun carries AL 39, next upgrade (AL 45) is in the Maguuma Jungle, then Amoon Oasis for AL 51, finally Drok's for AL 60. If have you Factions, when you get to LA you can get a quest to get to Kaineng, which carries AL 60 armour. Edit: If you Factions? Have! Which is why players continue to pay for the run from Beacon's Perch to Droknar's Forge.

So...should I go ahead and add some buffs to my armor in the meantime?

buff it now, when you get new armor salvage the mods off it and put it on your new armor.

Also, I wouldn't recommend buying armor every time it's upgraded. 30 armor will last you most of the game until you get the 60 armor set. You'll want to save up to, as that armor is usually pretty expensive for someone who's going through the game for the first time.

RPG beat me to it Your current armor should get you through most of the game. Save up (especially if this is your first character), and buy the best armor when you get to Droknar's Forge.
You can mod it now and then salvage the mods when you upgrade. |
