Names Under User, what do they mean? - Guild Wars Forums

I am refering to under the user's name, it has a statement (in my case academy page). What do these mean? Others i have seen include Lion's Arch Merchant, Academy Page, Krytan Explorer, etc.

Also on some of the more prominent members, I have seen unique tags, so is it possible to change them, if so how?

They're just titles on the message boards based on how many posts you have. As your posts rack up, you gain a title based on what the increment is (it varies).

Its a posh form of post count, the higher the number of posts you have made the better your rank.....The ranks mainly refer to the proph campaign - The more posts the further along it you are

Some of the titles are unique to that person, either though merit (someone has a 10,000th post title or something like that, and I Pwnd you is known for his "God of spammers" title). Mods have their own titles normally of choice

oh and of course.."Banned"....not the title you want

0 - 9: Pre-Searing Cadet
10 - 49: Ascalon Squire
50 - 99: Academy Page
100 - 199: Frost Gate Guardian
200 - 299: Lion's Arch Merchant
300 - 499: Krytan Explorer
500 - 749: Wild's Pathfinder
750 - 999: Jungle Guide
1000 - 1499: Desert Nomad
1500 - 2249: Forge Runner
2250 - 3249: Furnace Stoker
3250 - 4449: Grotto Attendant
4500 - 5999: Komali's Protector
6000 - 7749: Hall Hero
7750 - 9749: Underworld Spelunker
9750+: Tyrian Patriarch

In addition to the new forum titles that you'll see, we've also done an update on a lot of the forum graphics, smilies, post icons, and more. lol. Before, one could go to off topic and spam in order to get +1, not anymore though.

Anyway don't worry about the title that much, I think it only help a bit when a member put a link, attachment or other stuff in his/her post.

Y'know trust worthy and stuff like that.

Which is to say, it leads to a lot of useless posts by people just trying to max their "Guru forum posting" title.

Not to my knowledge, or I would have one. We do, however, get custom sigs.

+1 posts get deleted if we catch them and then are subtracted from your total post count.
