Couple of Questions
Alright, I recently came back to Guild Wars with a couple of friends. We played for a few months when prophecies first came out and we all eventually quit one by one.
I feel like a complete newb here but I need to ask some questions that I couldn't find an answer to on the forums . Right now I'm only on prophecies, I plan on getting an expansion but which one do you recommend? I saw some people with their own personal heros and I thought that was pretty sick. I've started running people from place to place for some cash and I was wondering which expansion would help me improve on that. I play a W/Mo. Whats better for a W/Mo? Axe or Sword build? I really like cyclone axe but I'm not really happy with my current build and get raped up the butt whenever I try to farm trolls or minotaurs at Elona's Reach. I've tried swords but they seem rather weak. I've recently made a minion master and went with N/E, Was that the right second prof? Are MM's even worth playing? Or is it just a huge waste of time? Also, I have a ton of gold and purple runes in my storage, How do I know what prices to sell them for? They're mostly +2,3 skills or +x to health depending on what armor they're placed on. |

1) If you are thinking of getting an expansion, keep in mind, Factions and Nightfall are stand-alone games and not technically expansions. Eye of the North is a true expansion. Only Nightfall and Eye of the North provide Heros. So if you wanted heros, you would have to get one of those 2. In terms of getting your money's worth, probably go Nightfall since there is more content, you get an extra storage page, you get two more character slots and access to 2 new professions. Those things are not available in the expansion Eye of the North. Eye of the North does provide heros, and access to the newest areas and dungeons.
2) Axe or sword, well it depends on what you are trying to do. Try out different builds using each weapon. Axes are good at damage, swords are better at more consistent damage and dealing out conditions, however both are good. In terms of farming there is a farming link im sure people can supply you (sorry I dont know how to link stuff). 3)MMs are still very wanted and good, however since the use of heros, many people have their heros running the MM build since they seem to be decently proficient at it. When I use my necro, I have the hero MM and I run a curse build, since humans are better at strategically placing curses, heros cant or dont. N/E is ok, especially with use of [skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill] for using necro curses and there are other builds using more elementalist skills, but that secondary is ok, but not the best as a MM. 4) The purples for the most part you can sell to the merchant, unless its an exceedingly rare skin. The golds price depends on the requirement and what inherent mod is on it (as in +15% damage when over 50% health etc). Also depends on the rarity of the skin as well. |

1) Read this to help decide which campaign/expansion you wish to get. If you want heroes, get either EoTN or NF. For running, a Dervish from NF would be better then your current W/Mo. But there are few profitable runs anymore, so you should base your next purchase on that.
4) Writ seems confused and is talking about weapons, rather then runes. You should go check the rune trader while in a major city(Ascalon, LA, Droks, etc). Put your sell price somewhere between their buy and sell prices. A lot of runes have become common now though, so you can just sell them to the rune traders. |

I've noticed alot of players in my party randomly link me to their skill templates, How do I go about doing that myself?
I've been browsing forums and checking peoples builds for farming and such and they always put a link thats like random letters and #'s, How exactly do I see the their template from just that? |

In order to *Ping* your build, you have to press CONTROL and click on your skill bar, this will work while you are in a group. If you want to ping it to your guild or alliance, you need to be in a town or guild hall, press K, then the little blue box that shows skills, builds.... and you click on Show template and then send to chat. All those weird looking letters are Build Templates. How Skill Templates Work Builds and more builds Good Luck!

Trx, Darkflame was right, I mis-read your post. I thought you were talking about gold and purple weapons, so disregard.
Also I just got back from Target, and they do have Eye of the North for $9.99 dollars (however out of stock). If you can catch that price, its definitely worth it. |
