how long before i get disconeected when a new build is released? - Guild Wars Forums

i just started a death level and it took 40 mins to set up and i got a message saying a new build is available. not the one that says please reload the client.

any thoughts? gonna quickly check wiki.

I don't think it will disconnect you at all. You'll keep getting the message til you do tho.

i was just a bit nervous becuase my friend tells me you get disconnected after 9-11 hours.

It all depends. The couple of times I left it on, I got disconnected but I know people who left it on all night with no problem.

well it disconnected me after about 1 hour give or take.
was doing the newbie lvl 10 max pvp a while back and had gotten up to around 30 consecutive wins and then it disconnected me saving that the build running was no longer supported.

Pretty sure you can't get disconnected unless Anet forces a global disconnect.

There's still your modem crapping out and the 10 hour idle limit too. But just because there's a new build, no, you won't get disconnected.

Edit: That's because you were PvPing, which is based on the fact that other people will still be in the old build. My assumption, at least.

For PVP, it just doesn't allow you to join new matches if a new build is released but it doesn't kick you from the game (atleast not me), you're just stuck in your last match indefinitely.

I've gone a few hours with an old build and didn't get disconnected. Although you can always manually disconnect your internet or reboot your PC, get the new build and since GW will think you've disconnected it will give you 10 minutes to reconnect, should work in theory.
