Prophecies or EOTN
My first PVE character is level 7, once i hit 10 should i go to EOTN, would i be missing much from skipping prophecies ?? as im finding prophecies a tad slow.
Also how would you go about getting to EOTN once i hit 10. Thanks |

get the quest "what lies beneath" from Len Caldoron in Lions Arch.
you will end up at Boreal Station then go out and talk to Jora and get quest "Against the destroyers" which will take you to EoN outpost. wraithe |

If so, once you enter EOTN, it will be hell for you: No skills for heroes and yourself, no elites; No funds to get max armor before your lowlevel bonus runs out (which would happen pretty fast). You would miss Attribute point quests. Aside technical reasons, you would have no idea how to play and failing miserably repeatedly is no fun. So there are quite few reason to stick with prophecies. |

You will miss the 30 attribute points. Personally I needed them for my build (just some silly feeling of "I casted spells faster than this during BWE, must be the missing fast cast point..."). But if you can live with that, sure.

Generally, play Prophecies first, but it might be worth visiting the first EoTN outpost, where you will receive 2 heroes. There's also a max-armour crafter, though you'll have to farm/earn enough cash and materials to make use of that.
IIRC, the hero training NPC gives a free max weapon, too. |

Skipping at level 10 really seems like something only experience players should do, seeing how much of a disadvantage of experience and equipment you'd be at.

Wel, as it is your first PvE char... I can only say.. please take your time and
do Prophecies al the way. It's THE best game made in the GuildWars world. The only thing that could be a problem are the missions couse you cant get a group easely these days. |

and after you stay in Proph buy factions and nightfall and beat themthen go to EOTN. I mean it is a one time fee and you will get your money worth. I have spent 3000 hours in 19 months, what other entertainment could you do for that long for the cost of the 3 games?

I would stay in Prophecies, as you are a new player. When you are around level 14-15 or so, I'd take the quest to EotN and get to the first outpost to get a couple heroes. That would be useful for completing Prophecies. You would also have access to the EotN skills via the NPC. I'd then not go any further with EotN, returning to Prophecies and completing Prophecies first.

I recommend completing Prophecies before moving on to GWEN if you are a new player.

in prophecies later you are getting 30 additional skill attribute points. as a lvl 20 character you must have 200, and you can get more then 170 if you started in prophecies and skip it.
you dont even realy have to play itto the end, but you must go through south shieverpeaks. here is how it goes ascalon: newbie place north shieverpeaks: still kinda newbie but more complex, teaches u how to play missions that are a tad more complicated. kryta: fun place, free skills jungle: annoying place that most people who played GW for a while skip, but you have lots of free skills there desert: must do the 3 missions to ascend, and get 15 attribute points from a separate quest. also gives you the option to be able to change your secondary by doing a few quests to unlock them. you will later be able to change your secondary all the time as you wish. south shieverpeaks: where the real game starts, the fun missions. also must do a quest to get the last 15 attribute points. burning islands: the end game missions, tons of fun but you dont necessarily HAVE to do them. complete prophecies is mu suggestion, but if you dont really like it, i suggest you play at least till after the desert. if you REALLY hate the jungle (its pretty long) then you can get a run from lions archto sanctum cay do do the mission that takes you to the desert. i hope it was helpful enouth |

I would tend to agree that sticking with the story line until at least you are level 20 and have ascended (the desert quests/missions) then I would think it would be ok to shift over. Doing most of the eye stuff before you are very familiar with the mechanics etc can make the game less fun.

yes i agree with other guys getting prophecies done is best way to learn..and earn skills.
though if you can get to Boreal Station you get 2 heros Vekk(elemental) + Ogden Stonehealer(monk) then to EoN outpost 2 more heros Gwen(mesmer) + Jora(warrior). just remember heros are your friends. learning to use heros is good, bad pugs will put you off the game. try joining a friendly guild too, some are very helpful. |

I guess going on with prophecies is the nicest way of playing. Although Eye of the North has a great attraction later on you might miss the excitement in the game for you will get lvl. 20 within 2 or 3 days. In the beginning cool, but after that, it isn't as nice, for it isn't a challenge anymore. It's best to play proph. fist, and later on, once you've reached lvl. 20, go to GW:EN.
