LDoA Hinderance: DC
Every time I setup a death-leveling session it seems anet simultaneously has something to put out via updates. When this happens, I get a message saying, "You will be automatically disconnected within 60 minutes." This happened in the middle of my death-leveling and it DC'd me without giving me a chance to bounce back and restore my progress. WTF, Anet?! Can this be fixed? Or will it remain as the prime pester to loyal gamers and fair reminder that, since ya'll already have our money, ya'll can f*** us in any way you now please by not fixing sh*t, or via nerfs even? I apologize for the abrasiveness of my words in this thread, but keep in mind that alot of time and effort goes into setting up death-leveling sessions and goes to waste each and every time updates occur and I get the "Death (Level)" Sentence. Please fix it so that Updates no longer boots players within the first 10-15 hours in-game (enough time to complete death-leveling & collecting xp from charr)...

And yes, I am serious! Just because you're not the one interested in grinding for LDoA, it doesn't mean anet shouldn't do something about it (for those that do). GWars doesn't revolve around you, buddy. But if anet DOESN'T fix this? ...they will prove to me that they've become apathetic and helpless like you (especially knowing that they do not profit like WoW with monthly fee's, hence they can collect the money initially and then never have to give a crap about their players and problems). |

Sorry, but some updates are pretty critical: fixing exploits for example. So to allow people to carry on for even 10-15 hours can still break the economy pretty badly. Having it so it boots you out after a while is more than fair. To be honest, they could have it so it goes "lol build. need to restart!" and boots you right away. Giving a few hours like it is now is more than fair.

Bug Fixes Fixed a bug that allowed players to steal monster skills. (induced by dev's from anet) Updated the models for two winning items from the Design a Weapon Contest. (not an exploit... non-critical) Wow... Sure are alot of exploits! Onoz! I can use Spectral Agony! Watch out! Mursaat better hope they're infused. o_o And if anet ever did do it your way, Kamara, then there wouldn't be alot of happy players, but instead...? alot of empty districts! But then again... Anet does have all our money and have no impelling reason to please their customers/players... No... "Incentive". |

Well they got to update it sometime, i guess its been bad timing on your part and Anets. Nothing you can do, nothing they will do. Pick a mainstream time as they are less likely to update when they know most people play then (only if it is of extreme importance) other than that.

It really sucks, I know but there's little that can be done to avoid it except get on with it. It's a horrible sinking sensation in your stomach to wake up to a disconnect or to spend 45 mins luring a gazillion charr to the res shrine for it to be undone by a developer's patch.
It makes the title rarer and tougher to get though. Just keep at it and you'll thank yourself for persisting. |

Your lucky if I were in charge death leveling wouldn't even excist
It is a really stupid concept and the titles that arise from it are also pointless in the extreme. Hey everyone I'm a great hero I saved ascalon and they gave me the title Legendary defender of Ascalon. What's that did I defeat all the huge numbers of Charr single handedly ? Well no what I did was really clever I found a small group of Charr and let them kill me continually all through the night till they built up big muscles then I beat them up. I learned so much from this I gained enough experience to become a better fighter. No wonder some people want these titles account based if we thought they had done it more than once we might have them sectioned as a danger to themselves and others. |
