Guild Hall Skill Trainer
I recently got the skill trainerf for the guild hall. I must have misunderstood something. I thought it provided ALL core skills, but different polayers in the guild are unable to get certain core skills. For example, I was helping one of my guildmates get skills for his heroes and we were looking at monk skills. I suggested Protective Spirit and Aegis. He was able to get Prot Spirit, but Aegis was not listed (along with several other prot skills that I was able to purchase). Of the professions we could both see, the skill trainer only listed around half the skills for my guildmate as he did for me. Is there something that we are missing?

Hmm...that's misleading. It only says that it sells core skills. I guess that makes it pretty useless. It would actually be worth having if either it sold ANY skill unlocked, or actually sold core skills. It would even be improved if it sold skills that ANY player in the guild had unlocked. Oh, well. We were pretty excited about this NPC.. Not anymore =/. Thanks for letting me know that.

If the guild hall Skill Trainer sold ALL core skills without having them unlocked, it would be the same as ANY Skill Trainer in ANY game selling ALL core skills. There is a reason certain skills are not available until certain points in the game. I'm not sure why Anet allowed unlocking skills to open them from any skill trainer, but I'm glad they did.
1000 Balthazar Faction is not hard to earn, even for a PvE only player. The Zaishen stuff as a tutorial to PvP can get you 2k faction daily, and is easy. Then just use the faction to unlock the skill you want, and buy it at any skill trainer. And yes, the Guild Hall Skill Trainer is a waste of money. |
