Divine Boon
Guys, isn't divine boon a really good spell on a monk? If I put it on a monk hero, will his AI be able to use it correctly? Thanks.

Hold shift to cancel it and then click it manually. It should work like that, its how all other maintained enchantments work.

Heroes use Divine Boon just fine without disabling it. It is one of a few they use right. However, if you use Divine Boon, make sure you use a build that can handle the energy demends of it. Especially since heroes like to spam skills, instead of use them at an appropriate time. If you are wondering, the only other maintained enchantment I know heroes will use correctly without disabling them is Blessed Aura.

For some history for you, yes Divine Boon was once really good on a monk. It was in fact the most popular monk build in the game prior to Nightfall being released (the addition of good monk elites like Zealous Benidiction). Divine Boon was nerfed significantly and used to be much better then its current version. It is still useable though. |

A couple of notes about Divine Boon. Use 5 energy spells only with it, and do not use Signiets unless they are for energy management. DB won't provide its heal when using a signet, or if you use a non monk spell. So no Protective Spirit, no Aegis, etc. Don't use a 20% Enchanting mod weapon if you use Mantra of Recall (which is a great suggestion for an elite). You want it to end on time, not longer than normal. Consider using a Necro hero or hench that has Blood Ritual, as a hero DB Monk will almost definitely have energy issues.

Thanks guys, that's very interesting. You guys keep saying that heroes use up their energy very fast. While I noticed that this is true for Vekk (after a fight, he is always at like 10/70 energy). However, my monk hero Stonehealer is almost always at full energy at the end of a fight. Howcome?

No worthwhile energy management in-profession, that's why monks use a secondary profession.

No, it seems to be a bug inherent to the monk AI. It just has pauses in casting every so often.
There aren't many good monk-primary ways to gain energy. You can give them Signet of Devotion (or signet of rejuvenation if you had factions) which gives them a free heal. Heroes can use Power Drain and Leech Signet pretty well, so you can try that out. Both are mesmer skills, inspiration line. Also, since I see you are looking for build advice on your warrior in another thread, let me throw this out: Succor is a maintained enchant that will give your monk +1 regen, but basically kill your own energy. If you are running an all adrenaline (or very near all adrenaline) warrior you could use that. |

You will have to have some energy management somewhere in the build, such as Mantra of recall, or run a hero with blood ritual.
If there's currently not a problem with your monk then maybe just keep him/her as he/she is. Personally, if I wanted to change my monk build, i'd just try it. See if it works, if i doesnt you can always change him/her back. |
