Probably will get you banned.
But no, it isn't an offense. |

I thought the same thing, so i just figured I would not transfer the money and not take the risk and have to deal with support to undo the mistake they would make.
Not illegal, but they'd get suspicious.

Just avoid to joke something about
"we received the payment" "please buy gold again from us" while transfering the money. |

I have two accounts, back from the days before we could by extra slots. I of course transferred all kinds of things between the two accounts as it was necessary, as some of my main classes to play were on the other account. Once we could buy slots, I retired that secondary account and remade the other characters on the main account.
Sad, I know (Anet should have allowed account merging back then), but I stopped transferring between accounts for the same reason as mentioned by others. Its not illegal, but its a good way to draw attention to yourself unnecessarily. |

I know of someone who had their account banned for a few days for moving funds between accounts.

You don't want to deal with the understaffed Anet support department. Why risk it?

If you do get banned for it all you would have to do is be able to prove to Anet you own both accounts and explain you were merely moving the gold from one account to another.

I know this is what anet does, but it is a problem for the hoest people.
I know there's a lot of people like me that have 2 accounts. You all know the problems with storage. I use my second account to store stuff for me, including gold I sitll have like 137k in that account. I guess I'll transfer 20k at a time. |

I have 3 accounts and often transfer large amounts of money and rare materials between them. Trade it to a trusted friend, relog on another account and collect it.
Never run into any trouble because of it, but I've often wondered if something could happen. |

I haven't had any issues. Of couse, the only money transfers I've done lately involved getting money off someone who was quitting the game, selling a rare mini for my best friend and giving her the profits, and buying some godawful armor to prank a friend while she was out of down. :P
