Ether Feast Awesome?
Does anyone think that Ether Feast is overpowered? I mean, it has a low energy cost and quick casting time (also the enemy is most likely guaranteed to have 3 enery). It's a lot better than many monk skills as a self heal. Is it a good skill for a secondary profession?

It's so totally awesome... that no-one touches it in high-end play, yeah.
It's not really any good for a secondary proffession, because to use it you need to waste points in Inspiration. |

My pre-searing ele will sometimes use it (with no pts in Insp, since mez secondary hasn't been confirmed/locked in/whatever it is) in combination with Aura of Restoration, but other than that... >.>
Edit: Even in pre, though, I'll often favor Troll Unguent over Ether Feast. Last edited by Pae; Mar 25, 2008 at 09:47 PM // 21:47.. |

yeah i also use this in pre, but for a secondary it fails. use primary attributes for your self heals 99% of the time.

Only worthwhile if using Inspiration Magic for other skills and you put attribute points into it. For instance, when I go to FoW on my SS Necro, I'll run a few points into Inspiration Magic and take Inspired Hex for giving me more SS uses. The energy gain from it is 7, and the cost is 5, so I come out +2 energy. Not a huge deal, but I have some points in Inspiration. If I wanted a self heal, Ether Feast would give me 108 health every 8 seconds. ot a bad way to go.
Only if using Inspiration for other skills though. Putting attribute points into Inspiration Magic just for Ether Feast isn't the best way to go. |

It's one of the best direct self-heals. Too bad monk healing > self-heal.

What Magma said. If you're bringing Inspiration skills anyway, then sure, throw it on. But don't put points into Inspiration just for it, and don't bring it without points.

Also you need an enemy nearby in order to use it.

Before they nerfed a lot of the warrior armor buffs I used to use ether feast to farm the siege golems. Get a bunch of buffed while hexed stuff and mantra of frost, march right up to them and kick em in their icy testes(thing is they use rust so heal sig is un-usable)
